May 25, 2010 7:34 PM

East Hampton Town Police continue to investigate the discovery of a body that washed up on the ocean beach in Amagansett on Tuesday morning, said Detective Sergeant Chris Anderson.

He said the remains were reported shortly after 8 a.m. by someone walking near Marine Boulevard. He said the body appears to be male and shows some signs of decomposition.

“There is a certain amount of decomposition, but it is not advanced,” he said.

He said no other information is available while the discovery is under investigation.

Probably it's the unfortunate kayaker who was out in the sound not long ago. They found his kayak, but not him. Poor man.
