The debate will feature Democratic U.S. Representative Tim Bishop of Southampton and Republican challenger Randy Altschuler of St. James.

The debate is scheduled for 7 p.m. this Monday, October 15 at the Bridgehampton High School. The first half of that debate will focus on jobs and the economy, the second half of that debate will also be open to general questions.

Job Shipping Randy, the New Jersey Carpetbagger will have a hard time explaining why he is running a campaign that claims Tim Bishop is "corrupt."

What could be more "corrupt" than Randy, the job shipper, taking money from the Koch brothers, whose father, Fred Koch, was a Founding Member of the John Birch Society. Randy Akinschuller may be right for India and New Jersey, but he is wrong for Long Island.

I really loved this book:

This story is the ultimate example of America’s biggest political problem. We no longer have the attention span to deal with any twenty-first-century crisis. We live in an economy that is immensely complex and we are completely at the mercy of the small group of people who understand it—who incidentally often happen to be the same people who built these wildly complex economic systems. We have to trust these people to do the right thing, but we can’t, ...more

Perhaps it is because independent watchdog group COMMITTEE FOR RESPONSIBILITY AND ETHICS IN WASHINGTON (CREW) has named Tim Bishop in its "12 most CORRUPT members of Congress", now that's saying something!!
Protect Medicare?! What a joke, Bishop just cut over 700 BILLION DOLLARS from Medicare with his vote for Obamacare. If Bishop cared about seniors, do you think he would have voted for that?
By shampton (30), southampton on Sep 26, 12 12:45 PM
Come on Randy! You got this.

Do you really think Randy is the cause of out sourcing? Why doesn't our genius congressman stop out sourcing? How many jobs did Timmy make? On Tim Bishops watch according to the last census Long Islands median income went down while people on govt assistance hit a record. The median income for a person on Long Island is less than 50k but Tim pays his daughter 170k to collect money for his campaign. We need a change because this guy Bishop is asleep

Be wary of the change you wish for.

You just may get it all, and then some you don't want...

I wish he was asleep instead of squandering every last penny I earn. Remember how well he ran Southampton College (LIU). Has he ever had an independent thought that wasn't in total lockstep with Pelosi. Time to rid the eastend of this parisite.

Tripped over this as a "banner ad" over at the MajorGeeks forum:

According to Time Magazine, Randy Altschuler was "devoted to making outsourcing happen." [Time, 3/1/04]

•"Over time, OfficeTiger was able to convince more and more companies about the benefits of outsourcing." [eBusinessForum, 3/22/06]
•Randy Altschuler "pressed his former Wall Street colleagues to give the Indian workers a trial run at higher-end labor." [New Yorker, 7/5/04]
•"In India, ...more

The change we are looking for? I'm looking for someone to do something anything. Tim Bishop is a zombie time to get new blood in there this guy has been one who has destroyed us.
By chief1 (2800), southampton on Sep 26, 12 8:58 AM
Altshuler is clearly benefitting from these debates, as Bishop has nothing to say other than 'i have helped some constituents' and 'Randy is an outsourcer'. This after a decade in office representing us. Tim Bishop has consistently voted for higher personal taxes, higher corporate taxes, loss of LI jobs, bank bailout, Obamacare, no to the American Flag, no to tort reform, yes to illegals, cuts over 700 BILLION from Medicare (sorry, seniors), House Ethics Committee investigation, enough is enough, ...more

Actually recent polling has Tim 7 points up on the job shipping carpetbagger.
By Steven (113), Westhampton on Sep 26, 12 7:21 PM
yeah, and if you believe Bishop is leading Altschuler, then I've got some land to sell you, Steven, because you probably also believe in the tooth fairy, mary poppins, and bigfoot. Dream on, Altschuler will defeat Bishop hands down. He's already creaming him in the debates.

Outsourcing of jobs is UNAmerican. The radical right wing of the Republican party has blamed uions for ruining America, as in the United States of America.
Well, how do they explain the removal of jobs in the textile south during the 1990's when there was, and still is, no unions in the private sector in the Southern states of our USA. So explain that Randy lovers!

Business exists to make a profit, sorry if capitalism offends the left. If wage and benefit costs become too onerous in one location, the business has the right to explore other options. The Demokrat Party, and by extention, L'il Tim Bishop, have made it more and more difficult to do business in the USA. Place the blame where it belongs Komrades.

Tim Bishop, part of Obama and Pelosi regime takes credit for saving General Motors. WELL TIM IS A MAJOR OUTSOURCER!!!! 1 in 4 GM cars are made in the US. Two thirds of GM jobs are out of the US. (See GM annual report or details). TIM BISHOP A CORRUPT OUTSOURCER.
By kpjc (161), east quogue on Sep 27, 12 8:27 AM
You are a compleate nut. I bet you would sign the pledge anything for $$ in your pocket.
By summertime (589), summerfield fl on Sep 27, 12 6:54 PM
TO SUMMERTIME---You say textile left in the 90's when Slick Willie was serving and enacted NAFTA! You answered your own question.
By kpjc (161), east quogue on Sep 27, 12 9:07 AM
Ah YES, I expected this. It is true Bill Clinton signed NAFTA. You are right. It is a beautiful example of BI-PARTISANSHIP. You know what that is, but maybe after the Tea Party group of idealogues you don't, "bi-partisan" it means working together... which has disappeared in congress. I wonder if it can be reborn? As in the south's love of born again.
By summertime (589), summerfield fl on Sep 27, 12 12:30 PM
kpjc from east quogue, You didn't know that The Republican party since the 1980's proposed NAFTA they finally got it thru after Geo. HW left and yes Bill Clinton signed it into law. I bet he was fuming over that but he did the noble thing and honored bi-partisan working conditions.
By summertime (589), summerfield fl on Sep 27, 12 12:35 PM
Like he never Vetoed anything and lowered his "standards.." (to appease those silly Repulicans) to sign NAFTA. Fuming I seriously doubt.....political shenanigans as usual....
By Tennyson (77), Quogue on Sep 27, 12 1:34 PM
I wonder what kind of a congress person you would be. Maybe you would sign a pledge andt then thwart any petitions that might help your constituents.
By summertime (589), summerfield fl on Sep 27, 12 6:37 PM
I did not say Bill Clinton lowered his standards I said he did the right thing and participated in bi-partisanship U no the thing that runs this country And I deeply resent The southern version of Tea Party. They dishonor the brave patriots who fought and died for the USA. I have six in the Revolution all from Southampton colony. And many served in the Union Army, the WWI and WWII and Korea. How bout you guys (gals?) fessin up did you serve in the military FOR this country?
By summertime (589), summerfield fl on Sep 27, 12 6:52 PM
it's actually a pathetic shame that this district hasn't been able to elect anyone better than Tim Bishop for the past decade. Show some self-respect, people, and put Altschuler in, for God's sake.
By shampton (30), southampton on Sep 27, 12 4:40 PM
and what have you done for our country?
By summertime (589), summerfield fl on Sep 27, 12 6:56 PM
if Randy is an "outsourcer" then Ti m is an "insourcer"by way of employment to most of his family. Is INSOURCER any different that Outsourcer? Of Course. Randy made a business and then sold it Timmy made a business and employed half or more of his immediate family some of which paid NO RENT to have a day care (sic) center at the college. What gives?? OK for Tim to Insource BUT NOT ok FOR A MAN TO BUILD A BUSINESS AND THE SELL IT? SOUNDS LIKE NEPOTISM AT IT'S FINEST AS ONLY TIMMY CAN DO!!!!
By xtiego (698), bridgehampton on Sep 27, 12 7:02 PM
Both President Obama and Tim Bishop continue to widen their leads against their right-wing, outsourcing opponents. From Ohio to Florida to the East End of Long Island, the true American partrots, the middle class, now realize that the Tea Party and other elelements of the radical right are mere puppets of the Koch Brothers (whose father, Fred Koch, was a founding member of the John Birch Society) Birther Donald (NY's greatest embarrassment), and Exxon/Mobile.

Send us down the road to fiscal ruin, vote L'il Ti. Send us down the road to socialism, vote for Li'l Tim. Send us down the road toward an omnipotent federal government , vote L'il Tim. Send us up the creek without a paddle, vote or L'il Tim.
Time for a successful business man to represent us, enough of the tool who's never held a real job.

A message to all the right wing blow hards: Want to get rid of Tim? Put forth a decent candidate and it will happen. Tim's a disaster but Altshuler??? It's gonna be 2 more years of Tim "You can't deport 12 million criminals" Bishop.
