A large tree blew down at around 10 a.m. on Thursday on Main Street in East Hampton Village. A section of Main Street near Baker House 1650 was closed to traffic while New York State Department of Transportation crews worked in the rain and wind to cut up and remove the tree. Traffic was still being diverted to Buell Lane as of about 2 p.m. on Thursday; East Hampton Village Police Lieutenant Gregory Brown said the road was expected to reopen at about 5 p.m. and that another tree had blown down at about 2 p.m. on David's Lane, blocking that road as well.
