Nancy Knotoff died on May 3, 2019, at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 70.

Born on May 18, 1948, to Thomas P. Watson and Bridget Watson in Brooklyn, her family moved to East Quogue where she grew up. She was previously married to Leonard and they worked together harvesting scallops while raising two boys. She was very active in the community and the PTA. Survivors said she was a warm, loving mother and grandmother who never missed a chance to spend her time with her grandchildren, adding that she was a good and true friend. She was a voracious reader who spent her time reading the latest novels in her favorite reading spot: her porch.

She had many friends, some of whom she traveled with to places such as Ireland, Alaska, the Panama Canal, the Caribbean, Bermuda, as well as the New England coastline.
