Community Meeting Set For July 12 To Discuss Metal Utility Poles In Eastport

A community meeting to address concerns regarding the installation of 70-foot-tall metal utility poles along Eastport-Manor Road in Eastport will be held Wednesday, July 12, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the Eastport Firehouse on Union Avenue.

Representatives from PSEG and local elected officials will be on hand to answer questions and address concerns about the ongoing transmission upgrading project. Brookhaven Town Councilman Dan Panico, State Senator Ken LaValle, State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr., and Suffolk County Legislators Bridget Fleming and Al Krupski have been invited.

The meeting is being jointly sponsored by the East Moriches Property Owners Association, the Eastport Green Project and the Moriches Bay Civic Association, with support from the Speonk-Remsenburg Civic Association, Remsenburg, Easport, Speonk Communities United, and Citizens Advisory Committee-West.
