Mary Jean Green steps down as civic president

Aug 25, 2010 11:26 AM

Mary Jean Green has stepped down as president of the Hampton Bays Civic Association, about a month before her term was set to expire, according to Elizabeth Scheure, the group’s interim president.

Ms. Scheure said Ms. Green decided to step down early because she needs to focus on her health. She resigned this past weekend.

Ms. Scheure said she will serve as interim president until September, when civic members will elect a new president.

Ms. Green did not return calls this week.

Mary Jean is a community minded woman of great power, knowledge and perseverance. She possesses a fund of historical data and information that we all called upon many times to help us though the thickets of local government. I hope that she will continue to be willing to make herself available to those who really need her.

Thanks Mary Jean!!!

Apparently the Captain holds "free speech" in contempt. I think he is definitely out to sea !.

Nah, only inaccurate, inarticulate and redundant speech that takes up space which could otherwise be used more productively.
