Southampton Police Expect Traffic Delays Saturday During Hampton Bays Parade

Mar 25, 2013 9:29 AM

Southampton Town Police are advising motorists not planning to attend the Hampton Bays St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday to avoid the area if possible. Streets will be closed for several hours between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, resulting in substantial congestion, police said.

The parade, slated to begin at 11 a.m., is set to begin on Ponquogue Avenue and then travel northbound to Montauk Highway, where it will run westbound until it concludes near the Hampton Bays Diner.

A large number of people are expected to attend the parade, police said, and traffic delays should be anticipated as Montauk Highway from Bittersweet South to Flanders Road and Ponquogue Avenue from King Street to Montauk Highway will be closed for the duration of the parade.
