Mario A.C. Hudson

Mario A.C. Hudson, formerly of Remsenburg, died on March 18. He was 67,

He was born on January 25, 1945, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to Augusto and Maria Hudson. On January 18, 1970, he married Mary Allness in Viroqua, Wisconsin. They were married for 43 years and together had three children and five grandchildren.

Mr. Hudson and his wife uprooted their charmed lives in Brazil in 1988 and moved to Remsenburg, where they lived for 24 years. They retired in 2012 and moved to sunny Stuart, Florida, where they could soak in the sun and sea year-round, a dream come true for both.

He had a long career as a heating and air-conditioning specialist. Upon closing his own HVAC business when leaving Brazil and moving to the East End, he worked as a technician, retiring from Weber & Grahn after 15 years of dedicated service.

According to survivors, Mr. Hudson appreciated the simple things in life, such as working on his vintage Volkswagen Beetle, enjoying a cold beer at the end of a long day and sneaking treats to his grandchildren.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife, Mary; their three children, Tanya Zaleski and husband Alex, Thais Sgrizzi and husband Matt; a sister, Augusta Levy and husband Ronald; five grandchildren, Lyla, Taylor and Kane Zaleski, and Rocco and Ruby Sgrizzi; a nephew, Daniel Levy; and many relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Augusto de Almeida Hudson and Maria das Dores Camoes Hudson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Follet & Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach, with a prayer service beginning a noon.
