Hampton Designer Showhouse Gifts Southampton Hospital $140,000

The Hampton Designer Showhouse Foundation presented Southampton Hospital with a check for $140,000, representing the proceeds of the ninth annual Hampton Designer Showhouse for the benefit of the hospital. This year’s showhouse was located in Sag Harbor.

Great job, but it kind of seems a bit meager considering it is the proceeds of the "Hampton Designer Showhouse".

Maybe if they didn't squander 9 million dollars building a monument to excess, and avarice, there wouldn't be a need for such charity. What do you honestly need with almost 11,000 square feet of house, except to remind people how wasteful our society is? 7 bedrooms, all air conditioned. 8 1/2 baths. You could move the Waltons in, and still have room for the Cleavers.

It requires a fair amount of resources to cover Mr. Chaloner's roughly $3,000,000 salary per annum.

Good for Mary Lynch! That's quite an accomplishment. Showhouses require an enormous amount of work, between locating a free house to use, signing top designers, finding sponsors and advertisers and getting an army of volunteers. She clearly has done an excellent job to have been able to clear that much money.
