J. Lo Reported To Be Buying In The Hamptons

Sep 26, 2011 1:46 PM

According to published reports, pop star Jennifer Lopez has set her sights on a 10,500-square-foot, newly-built shingle-style mansion on Bay Lane in Water Mill overlooking Mecox Bay. But agent Peter Huffine, who along with Susan Breitenbach is listed as representing the property for the Corcoran Group, says that the house is still on the market.

“I don’t know anything about what’s going on with that property,” he said during a telephone interview on Friday, September 23. “As far as I know, it’s still for sale.”

The three-story home is listed for just under $18 million as a co-exclusive between Saunders & Associates and Corcoran. A deal is expected to move into motion over the next few weeks, reports say.

Designed by Water Mill-based architect John Laffey and built by Richard Perrillo of East End Builders, the mansion sits on a 2-acre property with a gated entrance and classic stone driveway, according to the Corcoran listing. The seven-bedroom, 10-bathroom house opens with a rotunda-style foyer with imported limestone floors and a curved staircase. The residence boasts a library paneled in white oak, a chef’s kitchen, elevator, an additional second-story living room, and an attached three-car garage. The master bath features heated travertine marble floors and a large soaking tub carved from one piece of marble, according to the listing.

The finished, 3,500-square-foot lower level includes a theater, gym, sauna, wine room and large playroom, according to the Saunders listing. The property features a 22-foot-by-52-foot pool with a separate spa, a pool pavilion with a kitchen and bath, a two-car carriage house, and gated pathways leading to a dock on Mecox Bay shared with a nearby property once owned by the late actor Cliff Robertson.

Corcoran public relations specialist and training coordinator Claudette Dixon declined to comment. Ms. Breitenbach could not be reached at press time. Additionally, Saunders co-broking agents Diane Saatchi and Andrew Saunders did not return calls for comment.

Most likely no room at the hotel.

Most may even live out of their cars. Camera, cheap take-out, and a sleeping bag, what else do you need?
