Throne-Holst And Team Release Campaign Video

I wouldn't worry too much about this video. Its quite possibly the dopiest thing that has ever been put onto the world wide web. ''I love what I do"? How about you define what exactly you do besides being a doe eyed pretty face with no track record and a ''can't do'' attitude. There is no question the regulations were violated by this video and if half the time wasters on this site weren't so blinded by a (d) or (r) to dictate selective enforcement - it would be as clear as day. Let the bloated provost pitch for his gal, he's doing her no favors." Oct 27, 11 6:53 AM

Southampton High School Student Will Not Return To School After Shotgun Arrest, District Says

What the heck does hunting have to do with this, the lad wasn't hunting before school or after school and it doesn't matter if he is a north sea hick with a leaf stained toyota luv truck or not. It turns out that shotguns are for aiming, shooting and killing. And unless there was going to be aiming, shooting and killing at school, there is no need to bring the gun. Capiche?" It is the height of hypocrisy to claim that she loves what she does. Every single time we have met she has complained about the meeting she just left or about the budget or whined about the tax cap or something. ATH recognizes that she has to proclaim she loves what she does as a message, she has a victim mentality with a side of whiner.

Nice try highhatsize but your uses of parochial, warped, restrictive, unconstitutional, asinine, irrational, hysteria, outrageous and deplorable reflect a yeoman's attempt to "flip the script" but in the spirit of disclosure you should come clean with the fact that a solid 80% of your 984 comments are used to disparage local police departments. This leaks into your response for every story there is and thus, you lack objective credibility. Fluff aside, the kid was wrong, the school and the cops were right and now that I know who the was, it all makes more sense. Ammo in a friends car? More than 1 kid with a gun? One person's hysteria is another school administrator's charge to protect a public school's population of children. You are free to play with unloaded guns and feel tough on your own property anytime." Oct 28, 11 6:31 AM

I stand corrected HHS, it is closer to 54%. I did conduct a thorough actuarial analysis of your archived posts. I've also looked up gelignite. There is only one conclusion to be drawn here, in my opinion. You sir are afflicted with sesquipedalian loquaciousness, not an admirable trait of one who is so determined to communicate. Many times the points of your posts are lost in ridiculous flosculations. Please consider this a synallactic post but I've got my rods and cones in my cornea, via my optic nerve on you." That's a riot! You said do all politicians have to be so disgusting!? In a word, YES! Anna's advert on WLNG merely points people to the video's website. She does not feel the need to express her desire that you vote for her nor does she explain a single achievement. Just go to the video and you will be subliminally sparked to pull the lever for the woman who feels the need to drive home that she really loves what she does. So since she loves it, and this has worked so well in the past, we should give the little girl what she wants. She loves it. Its actually unseemly and uncomfortable to watch - Royalty explaining that since she loves it and wants it, that's all you need to know." Oct 30, 11 6:46 AM

Are we to infer that you think that Ms. Fleming's statement is so incredible that we should go vote for her? Sounds like lawyer-speak, and we have more than enough of that everywhere you look in politics. On the camp = this ding-dong's reputation is not worth anywhere near $65 million dollars but it sure is like a delirious democrat who mentally lives in a mythical land where everything he says is a NYT headline to think so. Why isn't he on ATH's video?" Oct 30, 11 6:54 AM

Nonsense, it doesn't take all of us working together in the world. that's the beautiful thing, the sun is setting and the moon rising despite what you do. Your problem is trying to create order in a world based on chaos. You better learn to live with the chaos." Oct 31, 11 2:57 PM

Turkey, that's silly and I'm scratching my head as to why you can't see it. There is no substance there at all! In fact the LA Crip named Rodney King said it better "Can't We All Just Get Along?" Equally simplistic and showing that there is very little difference between the mentality of a LA Crip and an politically slanted attorney." Oct 31, 11 3:36 PM

We are sure lucky that you geniuses are not on the jury. If I bring an AK-47 into school but have no clue how to use it, should I be exonerated? If I bring a jar of acid into school but I cannot get the top off am I good? If I shoot at someone and miss, do I get cleared of the charges? Interesting to see how everyone thinks - we need to get back to a place where if you broke the rules you were punished and not everything was up for nuanced touchy-feely silliness." Since when is learning to read English worthy of a zinger? I'm in a protected class now and Fleming would be the first to explain that to you. Your name is clam pie, let's say we don't get each other. Ms. Fleming has tendered her comments to protect the boss. You were forced to use the word ''basically'' because its lawyer/politician speak. And, its lightweight and meant not to really state anything or to offend anyone because its "lite"." Nov 1, 11 7:20 AM

Its over, the school administration sided with logic and conducted themselves perfectly. This decision leaves HHS and several of you where you belong, on the fringes discussing the nuances of one type of gun over another and whatever else obscure argument you can devise. Meanwhile, the universe caught the kid and dealt him his due process. Well done." Nov 2, 11 11:20 AM

You would rather be a dirtbag than a product of generational wealth? Your 2449th comment was your most ridiculous. That is so ridiculous. You look down on people that have inherited money? The publishers of the Press must adore you. You are the gift that keeps on giving..." Nov 3, 11 6:47 AM

Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield Confirms Plan To Drop Most Small Group Plans In New York

Phil, you are too funny. what you are seeing is the government's policies in effect. its not the private sector's policies that caused this, it is the government and it has resulted in higher costs and less choice. ny state runs the healthyny plan. the highest increases of any plan this year at 20% are, you guessed it, the government plans. The least coverage of any plan with those 20% increases and the plan taken by the least amount of doctors and hospitals? Right again, the government plan. Oh, and that plan geared towards low income people? Right again, the plan with the fastest increasing prices and least amount of coverage - bingo, the NY State sponsored HealthyNY plan. Enjoy." Nov 4, 11 6:07 AM

Tim Bishop is directly responsible for this situation and worked very hard to achieve a development in which the hospital and most municipal workers will lose their coverage. Most small employers on Long Island will lose their insurance plan as well. Remember "IF YOU LIKE YOUR PLAN YOU CAN KEEP IT"? When Tim Bishop voted to give the states money to fund new boards of overseers who report to the government, they were charged with putting retail insurance providers out of business in order to clear the field for the state run and government run plans. Empire pulled out of NY State because the first wave of healthcare reform legislation made it too expensive to do business in NY State. Period. If you liked your health plan you cannot keep it and this is just the beginning. Hopefully you love the post office, the dmv and the social security office as well. The state run plan is has the least coverage and is the fastest growing in price. The price only started increasing when people started rushing for it in the last year. It has almost doubled in price in 2 years. If you artificially suppress the price of insurance but don't suppress the cost of care - courtesy of your medical malpractice attorneys - that which the insurance is to be paying for, it creates a situation that is unsustainable for any organization that answers to SOMEONE. Then you are left with an organization that answers to NO ONE. Yup, the Federal Government. You notice that the only sector in this country that isn't suffering as a result of the last 2 years of deadly economic conditions are the REAL 1% - congress and those that work in the federal government? This is the only organization on the planet that neither requires a profit nor efficiency and actually has systems in place that render both impossible. Why? Taxes. Need more money, increase taxes. Problem solved. It might sound good in your re-election campaign to say you stopped insurance companies from raising rates, but you now see the beginning what could be a very bad trend. If you got to the ER with indigestion, you spend the night at incur $45,000 in tests because the provider is afraid you will sue them. $1.20 in Rolaids and a request to come back if the patient felt anything different later used to be the preferred treatment. Nobody is addressing that in any legislation or any serious discussion in d.c." Nov 5, 11 6:09 AM
