Code enforcement shuts down soup kitchen at Southampton Tire

I came to the US as a legal immigrant after waiting for 3 years to get a green card. I came here and received my green card at Kennedy Airport and had my picture taken right there. Someopne had to say that they would help me when I arrived. I had to be able t work. There were no free rides for health care or employment- I had to find my way - I had to speak English and work hard to make my way in life. When I bought my house - I had to have the 20% down payment and pay for all of the costs. I planned ahead to have my chance for the American dream. What has changed? Why do people want a free ride? They refuse to speak English, have multiple children who use our schools and health care facilites and medicaid system and now wish to have the same benefits as a legal immigrant and citizens? They may pay taxes on what they buy but they do not pay taxes to the federal government, state and city or medicare and social security. They continue to stay even though they do not have work. WHY?????" Apr 1, 09 5:56 PM

Deal gives Kabot GOP nod for reelection

Ms Kabot's government is NOT transparent - Stop pointing fingers when you have skeletons in your closet which you are hiding. Ms Kabot should stop pointing fingers and start moving forward and not prevent the people who vote from communicating their concerns. You are running a dictatorship - shame on you....." Kabot: Loss of Conservative Party line a 'betrayal'

Linda Kabot is definitely a candidate for "skeletons in her closet" She is not bringing anything up prior to Heaney because she worked for Cannuscio and the records are too old for that era - There were many last miinute changes made at the end of that term which impacted Heaney and finances. Again stop throwing stones and start getting the work done and stop crying over the 5% tax cap - thank goodness it is there!!!!!!!!!! Just start looking at all o9f the additional positions added to the town and trim your budget like every other major industry has has to do ." Jul 27, 09 1:42 PM

Southampton Town Supervisor Kabot, attorney give first interview on DWI arrest

I am very concerned that the trial is being moved to Riverhead where all of the other issues have been shoved under the rug. Does she have friends there?" Sep 24, 09 6:07 PM

Camp Developer Files $65 Million Lawsuit Against Project Critics

This camp has not been in operation for many years.... It was a defunct tennis club! It is pre-existing non conforming on residentially zoned land.
This is why the neighbors are so upset! Would you like more traffic and Majors Path to be widened? Would you like school buses going up and down Major's Path, Mary's Lane, North Sea Mecox Road? The camp charges about $8000.00 per child per summer - It is not for local children - It is sad to see this happen to one of the areas of the town where the local people live - It is not South of the Highway but guarantee that is who this camp will have as participants! So So So sad......," Oct 24, 11 8:03 PM

Unfortunately that has not been the case in East Hampton. An entire motel is rented for staff - Surely not all local people are hired. Look at the website most of the staff comes from up island

Angry Residents Want Answers Before Hampton Bays Shelter Opens

It was always my understanding thazt any type of multiple dweliing housing for individuals who might not have access to a car or other transportation should be placed in areas where there is availability to stores and buses etc. This seems totally opposite for this parcel - Didn't we gp through this in East Quogue a few years back?! Hampton Bays and North Sea are frequently dumping grounds - These issues need to be brought to the CAC's before moving forward by the town!!!1" Nov 18, 11 1:37 PM

Town Will Go To Court, If Necessary, To Stop Homeless Shelter At Hampton Bays Motel

How many of these people come from Hampton Bays
I would guarantee that they are being placed from other areas or relo9cated to the East End" Dec 2, 11 4:43 PM

Little Fresh Pond Association Files Lawsuit Against Southampton Town ZBA

The facts that are being submitted are incomplete
The ZBA approved a pool and a sports area- They did not approve a playground.l A variance to change the use of cottages was not requested as part of the swimming pool because the square footage would be above the limit. Si they figured that the would just do it. The bath house changes are required for dept of health approval but the changes are only inclded in the change of use variance. It is another example of sneaking in the back door.
Sad to say, this is an example of big businees getting rich on the East End." Jan 25, 13 4:50 PM

Nuzzi Will Challenge Schneiderman For County Legislature Seat

Mr Nuzzi has always been a respectful and honest member of Southamption Town Government. In this day and age, this is very hard to find. He is a life long East End resident not a person who has lived here less than 10 years who has nop idea of the issues. He has worked dilligently at his task of protecting the financial aspects of the town of Southampton. His intergity should speak for itself. He tells it like it is even if it is painful for some to hear." May 2, 13 11:20 AM

Southampton School Officials Begin Process To Look Into New Administration Building

What happened to all of the free space on Majors path that the school district has never used and cannot sell which was for community benefit use only. The school district should give it back to the town to be used as parkland.
What about the building on the other side of Majors Path that was the Nursery School and is now just used for storage and is unsightly to look at. They should sell that parcel and use that money to fix up their administrative offices.
They have been wasting money because thet don't want to be in North Sea
What a shame
