Hampton Bays Corridor Study Inches Forward

I don't think anyone really gets it, HB is all about the waterfront scene and activities. Changing the look of a few stores on Montauk Hwy is not going to help anything unless you raze the whole area and start over and that's not going to happen. They should instead think about developing the "town" in a waterfront location, maybe the area between Cowfish and Rumba, or something new near Tiana Bay just off Montauk Highway. Think of Montauk, the main tourist area is with-in walking distance to the water and you get that relaxing, fun feeling from being close to the water. HB has much nicer beaches, calmer and warmer water than Montauk and can be the hottest Hampton. The Chamber of Commerce should promote the town with a slogan such as "Hampton Bays, the Happening Bays". We have it all, and we can make it better with a little common sense planning." Fear, Anger Grow In Wake Of More ICE Detentions

What about the fears and anger amongst legal citizens? No one cares about us, the press only covers one sympathy side of the story. Hampton Bays Water District Failed To Test For PFOS, PFOA Contamination In First Quarter Of 2017

Mr. Conetta stressed that the district had “mostly complied” and pointed out that it had acknowledged mistakes that would not be repeated in the future. “It’s not uncommon to have a monitoring oversight,” I guess that should make us sleep easy at night. BTW, his firm is also under indictment for contract irregularities with the NYC DEP among others; who knows what's really going on here." May 24, 18 10:38 AM

Community Supports Lobster Inn Purchase During Public Hearing On Tuesday

Terrible idea, the CPF should be required to pay real estate taxes on any purchase equal to the current taxes at time of purchase. Every time they take a property off the tax rolls, WE THE TAXPAYERS have to make up for the loss of tax revenue." Jun 13, 18 3:26 PM

Ribbon Cut On Restored Lyzon Hat Shop

What are we going to do about the water in Hampton Bays, dirty water is flowing through our pipes(I mean black dirty water, not discolored brown water). Called the water district and they said it was because too many people are watering their lawns, they didn't seem concerned that they are delivering black water, they know about it and didn't seem like it mattered to them. 27 EAST please get on this and expose this terrible situation - this could be worse than Flint, MI." Strain On Hampton Bays Water District Caused By Out Of Service Wells

As of 12:25 PM on July 3, 2018 there isn't even anything on their website. When we called yesterday to find out what was going on they talked as if it was no big deal and blamed the residents for using their sprinklers too much. I don't know about anyone else, but since we had such a rainy spring, I didn't even turn my sprinklers on until June 9th (and I use well water so it doesn't matter). We were told to wait until after 11:00 am for clean water - so I guess you can't shower before going to work, unless you want to shower with mud water. I think we have a really big problem and it needs to be addressed soon. This sprinkler use excuse is a cover-up. Let's get to the bottom of this.

And how do they have the nerve to charge us for mud water????" Jul 3, 18 12:31 PM

Land Acquired By Town In Hampton Bays For Future Waste Treatment Facility

Seems odd that a waste treatment plan would help improve water quality. No matter what they do they will tell us the water is safe to drink. I still would love to see the Superintendent come to my house and drink a glass of that mud water we had last week coming out of the faucets. Maybe we can turn the event into a fundraising challenge." Jul 11, 18 3:22 PM
