There is too much development going on and I don't know what Southampton Town is doing with the Preservation Fund money, but traffic was never this bad.
People are not watching the road; the speed limit is slow enough. Stop signs are put in the wrong areas and create anxiety. The traffic calming measures are not well thought out."

Southampton Town just wants revenue. It doesn't care about preserving what once was a beautiful Southampton Town. There are millions of dollars in the preservation fund that should have been used to save this 300 year old home. It's so sad. Look at what Farrell Builders is doing to the area. How were they able to buy up all this land without anyone fighting back. Where is all the beautiful open space that we all voted on to preserve. Shame on you Southampton.

Do not penalize the taxpayers with another unrepresented tax. What is wrong with everyone. Leave the taxpayers alone. In the first place water resources and sewage should be free. It's bad enough a portion of our taxes is taken out for Suffolk County so they can continue to be a tax collecting entity. Stop putting the burden on taxpayers for mismanagement.

I don't know how PSEG took over LIPA so quickly but I'm sure it was politics. Bridgehampton had the same issue, and people didn't fight hard enough to stop this, and guess who is paying for this. The ratepayers. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO EAST HAMPTON." Mar 18, 14 8:53 PM
The cap is there to help the taxpayers. There's no reason to pierce the state tax cap.

Please preserve land. Let's work on growing green not growing oversized developments. Let's take back this beautiful place." Apr 23, 14 6:11 PM
Stop finding ways to fine the good citizens. You fine the taxpayers enough.

How can Bridgehampton school district get away with this? Close or consolidate.

McMasions are ruing the east end, and there's a large element of greed going on out here. That said there's really nothing for young people to really do out here except in the summer time. Since I've lived out here it's gradually become a year round place and with that comes an adjustment. There need to be more places for young people to socialize and a glass of wine isn't $15. We have the Long Island railroad that goes to Manhattan; why isn't there more service? The MTA takes our tax dollars; taking local taxis are too expensive. I don't know what the answer is, but I do know things need to be more affordable." Apr 28, 14 10:50 PM
But you better make sure your leaves are raked up.

Why hasn't Southampton Town purchased the properties that Farrell Builders has taken over and is destroying with awful McMasions; oh wait maybe Farrell could make one of his houses a 28 unit apartment complex. The town has no vision what so ever." May 14, 14 9:09 PM
I wonder if money from the preservation fund could be used to repair the bridge, since the town doesn't use the money to preserve land. Plus the state offering $500,000 is generous and Southampton Town could take some of the money it uses for leaf pickup and pay to repair the bridge." May 28, 14 9:15 PM
Stop it already. Let parking be free free free; we pay too much to live here already. Make it FREE." May 28, 14 9:17 PM
Pretty arrogant.

Maybe the american people should be big corporations so our privacy can be protected." Jun 4, 14 10:24 PM
I understand the need for affordable housing, but there are existing buildings that could be used. STOP overdeveloping. Keep our natural resources. This will only create more government control and the need for more government services, more traffic, etc. Why is it so hard to afford to live here; that should be the issue. Work on ways to make it affordable to live here, starting with gasoline prices." Jun 11, 14 10:18 PM
Quogue keep fighting against an eruv. It's borderline occupation.

Please keep the integrity of the bridge. The current Southampton Town Highway Department is too aggressive. They may turn it into a highway. The Town loves overdeveloping things." Jun 25, 14 10:16 PM
Vertical density? Stop the madness. Lower our property first of all then maybe people could afford to live here." Jul 6, 14 9:39 PM
I wish these hedge fund people would go away. Why isn't East Hampton Town and Southampton Town for that matter purchasing these parcels for preservation. Let's keep our natural resources. Where's the community preservation fund money? Quality of life is going down hill out here. Every time another monster house gets built the area loses more of its spirit. What a shame.
