Seven Arrested In Prostitution Sting In Riverside Friday Night

They will be able to move their operations to the new Good Ground Park in HB. The Town and the taxpayers are building the criminals beautiful new digs to move in to." Apr 11, 16 6:50 PM

Vigil For Murdered Immigrant Held In Patchogue While Trump Appears At Fundraiser Down The Road

What does one have to do with the other? It's too bad a man was murdered but it's also too bad that our country is overrun with so many illegal immigrants who are willing to break the law and then scream for their rights." Apr 15, 16 3:47 PM

Sag Harbor Natives Distribute Water Filters In Panama During Surf Trip

"He would like to educate the indigenous people about the importance of properly disposing of their garbage. “If they are given a plastic bag full of bread, they eat the bread and toss the bag out the window,” he said." So that's why all the "indigenous" people in Hampton Bays leave garbage all over town. I get it now. Mr. McMahon doesn't need to go all the way to Central America to teach the "indigenous" people how to pick up after themselves." Apr 17, 16 7:54 AM

Sag Harbor Man Receives Outpouring Of Support After Motocross Accident

I sympathize with the family's accident, but I find it hard to understand that with Ms. Federico's salary of $135,696 a year at Pierson, and the fact they have cadillac health insurance to cover the bills, and they pay virtually no money toward their premiums, that they would feel the need to set up a Gofundme page. Shouldn't that be for people who are really in need? " Apr 25, 16 7:11 PM

I only know that it's not cheap to live anywhere. Why not borrow from a bank if you need money? All I am saying is that many people don't have the luxury of a paid for health insurance plan that covers all the bills. This family even has a dental plan paid for by the school, and life insurance, etc. Most people do not enjoy the benefits of a job you can't be fired from and all the bennies that go with it.I don't know the family but everything can be found in seethroughny.net. And why? because teachers salaries are paid for by the taxpayer and therefore public information." Apr 26, 16 6:47 AM

No, but living beyond your means and begging for dollars is wrong." Apr 26, 16 6:48 AM

Sag Harbor Man Receives Outpouring Of Support After Motocross Accident

This family, whether intentionally or not, made their personal business public with a gofundme account and then a public story in the local paper. This is what happens when you put your business in the street. Whatever happened to neighbors reaching out personally with food, gifts, etc. when a neighbor is in need? Sorry, but this is just one more shameless display of begging for dollars. I stand by what I say and too bad if you don't like it. Gofundme is horrible, it preys on people's good nature, and it takes a 5% cut of the donations. It also allows the donors to put their name in so everyone knows how charitable they are. Keep it private, among yourselves if you want to help someone, but then again why donate if no one knows you are doing it? Shameful.
PS. I didn't have to "research" anything. It's easy to find salaries of employees whose real employer is the taxpayer. Don't like it? Don't work for me." Apr 27, 16 1:03 PM

UPDATE: Former Hampton Bays School Board Member Pleads Guilty For Looting Scholarship Fund

Yes, he will continue his job because the union would never let him be fired. Then the taxpayers will fund his lifetime pension and health care. He's gonna need the healthcare by the looks of things." May 6, 16 6:57 AM

Why doesn't the HBFD cut him loose? Why would they even want him as a member to sully the department? I would be afraid to let him near a residence during a fire. Who knows what this sticky fingered guy would steal." May 8, 16 7:14 AM

Of course a relative would say that.

I want 27East to tell me why my comments have been deleted when they are not duplicate, off-topic, nor do they contain inappropriate content? Could it be that Booth's family members are reporting them as "inappropriate"?" May 10, 16 6:53 AM

Maybe the HBWA quoted 27East his base pay. Don't forget about the overtime, which is probably included in the seethroughny.net figure! And let's not forget about the free healthcare, which I am sure includes dental and vision, and of course I am sure he can bank all those "unused" sick days for a nice payout when he retires earlier than the rest of us on his pension. Another reason to home school your kids. Lord knows what goes on in the public schools system anymore. Between the propaganda laden curriculum, overpaid administrators, teachers, and janitors, and out of control Boards of Education you would be crazy to send your kids to public school these days.

Southampton Town, CSEA Meet With Arbiter About Contract Settlement

I guess only union lackeys are commenting here. I think Mr. Gregor should run for Supervisor. He is the only one who wants to stop the municipal unions from hijacking our children's future. I am sick of the taxpayer, who is NOT represented, but must pay, to be the ones to take it up the **#*$*$! Town employees should pay for their healthcare and they should not get automatic step raises. These have gone the way of the Dodo for the private sector and the public sector is out of touch and breaking our backs." Jun 20, 16 6:36 PM

Southampton Town, CSEA Meet With Arbiter About Contract Settlement

From 27 East March 2016: "The settlement, if approved, would reduce employee contributions to their individual or family health insurance plans from 20 percent to 10 percent, and would be applied to all union members hired on or after June 10, 2014. Those hired after 1995, but before 2014, pursuant to the settlement, will pay 10 percent towards family plans, and those on individual plan will not contribute. As the contract stands now, union members still pay zero if on an individual health plan, and approximately 15 percent if they are on a family plan.

Employees hired prior to January 1, 1995 currently do not contribute towards the cost of health insurance, which will remain the same if the settlement is finalized."

In this day and age, it's ridiculous for the town employees to expect the kind of insane perks they have had in the past. Get real, get with the rest of the country. Unions have no place in government." Jun 22, 16 6:31 PM
