Southampton GOP chairman to step down

Nuzzi has been doing a great job and will have no problem keeping his seat on the Town Board. He has always been effective and responsive to any issues that myself or others I speak to have brought to him. He definitely has won our votes!!" Sep 16, 09 9:01 PM

FRNCA announces its first holiday toy, food and clothing drives

I was very interested to hear all the candidate’s positions on various issues. Sally Pope seemed absolutely clueless about everything. It wasn’t really “courageous” to say that taxes may be raised. That is something that has been all over the papers for weeks and personally I would rather have someone who looks to explore other options before leaving us taxpayers holding the bag. Nuzzi was the most competent and knowledgeable by far. " Sep 30, 09 10:08 PM

Southampton Town officials ready proposed budget for next year

Reducing the size of the Planning Board and ZBA would have saved the Town $600,000 in salaries and benefits over a seven year period (their current term). That is a few part time postiions or a couple of full time positions that could be funded instead laying people off and paying for these bloated boards. The Town Board has 5 members, why can't these boards function that way? Just look at the ridiculous taxes being imposed on us by the state--can you say the Dems are not a party of higher taxes?" Audit finds numerous errors in Southampton Town's accounting practices

Turkey bridge it is obvious that you are working on the Democratic campaign and I suspect you are a campaign manager. I hope people understand that your “comments” are one big political advertisement and are in no way a real impartial assessment of the candidates. If they were, you would be honest about how embarrassingly clueless Sally Pope has been since her time on the Town Board and how awkward and painful it was to listen to her in debates when she didn’t know the answers to simple questions. I can understand your political strategy in trying to put down Chris Nuzzi but anyone who really pays attention to what goes on in the Town knows that he has done an excellent job and is extremely well liked. Workers finish dredging Shinnecock Inlet; project comes in $3 million under budget

This is great news! Thank you to Chris Nuzzi who lobbied for the dredging and sand stockpiling projects, and to Bishop for his efforts." Jan 20, 10 3:40 PM

Bridget Fleming sworn in, helps push through gridlocked resolutions

This position will be funded with the limited grant money that could have been used in various different ways including offering rebates to Town residents who installed green fixtures at their homes. Do you really think this job is going to go away when grant money ceases to exist? The same handful of democratic and green committee members will be again marching on Town Hall demanding that it be kept as a full time CSEA position, funded by taxpayers. Nuzzi and Malone have this one right. Many government "green" grants are already nearing their expiration dates and in a country that is moving towards green technology anyway it isn't going to continue to pay for people to do this, they will start mandating it. Another waste of money on a position that could have been used to directly benefit taxpayers." Mar 27, 10 11:57 AM

Yes Turkey Bridge, and what Nuzzi keeps patiently explaining is that he requesed that the rebates and incentives be included in the grant proposal several months ago and along the way, but was ignored. A coordinator was not a mandate of receiving the grant money, but it was what the green committee asked that it be used for in the proposal." Mar 29, 10 10:02 AM

Southampton Town Board Adopts Amended $79.9 Million 2011 Budget

Job well done! Raisng taxes is the last thing any of us need right now. I hope the state and feds follow suit. " Nov 20, 10 11:27 AM

Contrary to your opinion:
(1) Lowering taxes at a time when our residents and businesses are scraping by is mindful and responsible.
(2) ATH didn't seem to mind introducing last minute amendments and voting with the Republicans before she became Supervisor and started playing victim.
(3) It's hard to even know exactly what the deficits are when the Comptroller NEVER has a straight answer. Either way, there is still money reserved to pay them down.
The only one who will be it out is ATH who again showed her true colors by not even having the conviction to vote no to a budget she is supposedly so opposed to." Nov 25, 10 12:33 PM

Nuzzi Not Sure If He Will Accept GOP Nomination For Supervisor

For the sake of the Town I hope Nuzzi goes for it! He's done a great job as a councilmember and is well liked by the community. I'm sure ATH and the other Dems are shaking in their boots at the thought of him running because he, Scalera, and Hughes would surely be looking at a clean sweep. " May 23, 11 3:02 PM

Contractor Claims Southampton Councilman Locked Him In Office After Worker Broke Into Home

The guy admits to breaking into Malone's house and then confronts him in a workplace situation? Nobody sees anything wrong with that? Maybe Malone was on a power trip but it seems there's two sides to this story." Jan 11, 12 9:17 PM

UPDATE: Throne-Holst Promises 'A Seamless And Positive Transition' For Police Department

Good riddance! He shouldn't even get paid through December 1, where has he been during the whole hurricane crisis?! I haven't seen or heard anything from him in weeks. He probably knew he'd get heat from the public for being absent and decided to start pointing fingers at others before that could happen. " Nov 6, 12 3:34 PM

Kabot Asks Supporters If She Should Run For Southampton Supervisor

Firstly, Linda you seem like a smart lady but I think it's time to move on. Secondly, I see a lot of comments about the same few people running over and over again and about some of the current electeds. Last time I checked anyone is eligible to screen or run a primary. So stop complaining about the folks who have the courage to stand up and actually do it. " Mar 6, 13 10:06 AM

Nuzzi Will Challenge Schneiderman For County Legislature Seat

I would say that his high vote counts would deem him quite popular. To the contrary of the biased political comments on this website, I've known him to be very well liked by the regular folk. We'd be lucky to have him representing us in the county. Go Chris!" May 1, 13 12:58 PM

UPDATE: Sex Offender Trailers Shuttered, But Remain On Site

I find this as extremely interesting timing. Does anyone else find it more than coincidental that this latest plan to finally move the sex offenders comes at the same time Schneiderman has a real race on his hands against Nuzzi? This was literally announced on the same day Nuzzi received the nomination. It's just sad and pathetic that Schneiderman and the county bosses waited until it was politically advantageous to address this issue!!" May 25, 13 1:21 PM

Too bad it took him 7 years to keep his word. Give me a break." May 26, 13 9:15 AM
