Westhampton Beach Penalizes Police Officer 30 Days' Pay For Timecard Error

"Nothing personal against cops, but how many of them could find private sector jobs that pay anywhere near the amount they are making now? I'd venture to say almost none."

Translation, you dumb coffee drinking, Dunkin Donuts eating slobs, couldn't find a real job in the private sector.

That's a bit harsh Reality First. I venture to say, of my experience with local cops, for the most part, they seem pretty bright. They seem pretty motivated. They obviously have the internal drive to put up with a public that largely criticizes them for doing a job, that the most people would want no part of. So with those qualities; the intelligence, motivation, and drive.. I think they would do just fine in the private sector.

Hopefully its a non issue over the next decade, when we are making our 150% plus raises, and we aren't even looking at the 5% raises they get as relevant. " May 10, 11 1:35 PM

Plan For Southampton Police Sector Car For Sagaponack Put On Hold

Wow. So the 57,000 year round residence in Southampton Town have 5 Detectives. But the 37,000 year round residence in Riverhead Town have 10??? Felony party at my house!!!! Wooo-whoo. Pssst... Ridiculous, my two year degree from Suffolk tells me that swiping an I-POD from a car isn't a felony, so the Detectives don't investigate that. Toma Noku, your idea is great too, lets go to the Hampton Bays area and commit some burglaries and not fret over it, as they won't start investigating it until fall. Come on... Listen to you. I will pay my 300 bucks for my Southampton Town Police Taxes this year... No problem. Then go drop another 3 hundo this month on my Cablevision bill. " Jul 14, 11 1:40 AM

Police Chief: Officers Had Probable Cause To File DWI Charges In East Quogue Fatality

I wonder if that is all the criminality he faces? Excess speed. And what looked like three hundred feet of skid marks left on the road. What a shame, two young life effected so permanently. So the kids blood came back clean, that is a relief to know that he was not drunk and that can be ruled out for both families. But How can the kid justify the amount of skid marks left on Lewis road. The whole situation stinks. So very sad. " Jul 20, 11 11:23 PM

Wow. Highhatesize this article is not really the place for your anti-cop rhetoric. I am glad the kids blood is clean. I am glad they will have to drop the charge. I am glad they looked into at least. Imagine being the deceased kids family and not knowing the answers. " Jul 21, 11 12:08 PM

2012 Southampton Town Budget Will Include Staff Cuts

Does anyone actually read their tax bills? I pay $10.00 more for my yearly police coverage, then I do for my hamlet's library fee. Wow. I pay $150.00 more for my fire district, man that seems so high.. Oh wait.. Pretty sure that's gonna seem like a bargain when, God forbid, my house catches on fire. We buy any new night clubs this month? " Sep 21, 11 9:21 PM

After 37 Years, Veteran Detective Retires From Southampton Force

Oh my god... That guy seemed like he worked an awful lot. Can't afford? The police tax in Southampton Town is minimal. So minimal its funny. Reform has to be across the board. Fine. Lower the cops value, but don't stop there. To this Hintze fellow. Many thanks for putting that many years in dealing with this ungrateful community. " Sep 30, 11 5:49 PM

Republicans Challenge Forced Police Retirements In Southampton Budget As Political

No dude. We can afford these guys. We can't afford the county fees. It would triple my police tax in a year. Lots of these guys are former city cops too. " Oct 6, 11 11:30 AM

Southampton Town Attorney To Respond To PBA Letter, Grievance Possible

Back to the sworn contract police stuff. Would they be called the High Hat Size Police Department? Everything you say is negative about Southampton Town Police. There's got to be a history between you and them, hope your records are secured too. I have noted this before, I have never had a negative issue with the police department, I am pleased to pay my low police tax, compared to my friends in Brookhaven." Mar 22, 12 12:05 PM

UPDATE: Hampton Bays Man Charged With Stealing Car, Leading Police On Chase Near Campus

If u are saying cops on a whole are incompetent, your post is opinion. In which case God bless you. If you are saying that this proves that the Southampton cops are incompetent, i say "booooo" to you and perhaps you should read the article again. Sounds like communication of information was conduct quickly, which lead to a quick finding of the vehicle. Not the cops fault the theif jumped from a moving car and got away. But i am glad you got the point better than I did, def cop incompetence. No doubt the theif was just an innocent person who must have fallen into the car, which then, automatically locked and drove off like KIT from Nightrider. " Mar 29, 13 9:35 AM

Uhhhh. Sorry, but who cares. I am sure somewhere along the line a tax we pay, pays there salary. I am sure the officer could take a break from guarding an empty campus to aid in this, ha.... The biggest crime here is the complete waste of the college property, which is not being utilized for much lately. " Mar 29, 13 9:40 AM
