Kabot DWI case moved to Riverhead Town Justice Court

Hi guys! I have another, or additional theory: A private detective who works for the Town has a significant other who icontinues to be furious about LK comments regarding her performance as former comptroller.
Oh and the typewritten letter to LK re: ATH involvement points to the very estranged wife of said detective for 3 reasons. " Oct 6, 09 10:48 PM

Yes, treewoman totally agree. Addittionally when you put quotations around a word there can be an inference that the writer is trying to emphasize that word, or highlight it in some way, altho I don't think the writer in this case was doing so.. " Oct 7, 09 10:48 AM

Southampton Town deputy supervisor confronts, shoves PBA president over comments about budget

I think the STPD salaries are fine. It can contiribute to a top force with a larger number of academy graduates applying and competing to work here. It also is a model for the rest of the country that this profession is worthy of a good salary. There also is the factor that the cost of living is higher here than other places. Can you blame the union for trying to get as much as they can? This is what people do in all fields, they ask for more than they know they will get in order to be in the best negotiation position form the start, and they of course expect and accfept that the result will be a compromise from the get go.
Having said this, I do think the police union is overstepping boundaries with their endorsement of ATH and their behavoir does come across as somewhat bullying to me with both the incident re this article and with the town hall meetings on the vids. " Oct 10, 09 9:40 AM

New court date set in Kabot case

Does anyone else find that the first sentence of this article to be off?Using the charged phrase "drunken driving" as opposed to the standard "DWI" written in non biased, non inflamatory news articles?
article quote:
" her lawyer is hoping to take her drunken driving case to trial that same day."

Maybe it wasn't intentional because the sentence also grammatically implies the lawyer is a female lol. I'm not a Linda Kabot supporter but it does seem like
she has been set up. I wonder if a lot of people feel as I do that we have no choice but to not vote at all? " Oct 16, 09 10:31 AM

Throne-Holst missed campaign finance filing deadline

I agree with all those who say there is no candidate to vote for on election day. However, someone has to be in place to do the job and my vote is going to be Kabot due to the fact that she is far more knowledgable about the position and the the ins and outs of the problems, is under close scrutiny by the public now, and seems to really care about getting the town in order. Regarding the former comptroller, if anyone else knows her and is aware of her round about ways (to be kind) then you would realize how restrained LK has been with her public comments regarding that former comptroller's performance. Kabot's court date is pushed back to December

I think Linda should wear her bangs pulled back all the time like on one of her campaign pictures, it looks much better. She even looks a little like Melissa Joan Hart that way." Oct 29, 09 3:21 PM

lol thanks goldenrod ;)" Oct 29, 09 3:37 PM

Report: Missing firearm led to inquiry; Two Westhampton Beach Police officers suspended

If I were with the SH Press I certainly wouldn't publish names especially when they are names of unscrupulous police officers.
We already know that the officer(s) engage in retailiation. " Nov 5, 09 8:17 AM

Throne-Holst unseats Kabot as Southampton Town supervisor; Republicans maintain board majority

to Kelbas, it's not the amount that we will pay in extra property tax its the principal that we the people have to pay for the former Comptroller's repeated "mistakes", what mistakes will we pay for next? I don't see why the former Comptroller isn't held accountable for her "mistakes" and ordered to pay the money to the town she might have purposely defrauded, if that turns out to be the case. Any other town would want to get to the bottom of possible financial corruption. The wiley former comptroller lost the race for LK, nothing else.

Re: The 30K per student - it is for the children, yes, what better investment could a town make? " Nov 5, 09 8:31 AM

Oh, I see, thanks. Maybe they made the decision to not pursue legal action prior to the discovery that the misallocation of monies by the former comptroller was a "pattern" which makes it appear more intentional and would have raised it to a higher concern. Also isn't it costly to pursue legal action? It might cost as much to hire attys as the amount of money that needs to be realllocated properly. Well I would rather all of us property tax payers pay for the mistake then, instead of harming any good people with layoffs or other measures that would weaken our community like the closing of services for children, etc. " Nov 5, 09 10:05 AM

I have no idea about Linda Kabots DWI stop or a conspiracy, I wouldn't be surprised though if it turns out to be true because of the mentality of her detractors like the police that showed up enforce setting out to intimidate her in town hall. I just know that the former comptroller's partner is a former SH policeman and works in town hall, and am only guessing that LK "enemies" list is probably longer than we all know, whether they are police, former police, former comptrollers, or otherwise.
I don't know what you mean about the editors or reporters showing up in the police blotter? They didn't name names lol. My comment above yours was just really meant to say that I would personally be afraid to anger the police in this region, but especially the ones who do unscrupulous things. I grew up in NYC and never felt the police were to be feared in anyway or had a little too much throwing around of force. " Nov 5, 09 10:39 AM

To Frank Wheeler: how did you insert your comment @10:03 am above my 8:17 am lol?

Don't worry I'm still afraid lol " Nov 5, 09 6:32 PM

Town code enforcement again raids Westhampton home owned by Kabot's aunt

FYI the investigator is the partner of the former comptroller." Nov 14, 09 12:22 PM

It would be libelous to spell out." Nov 15, 09 7:56 AM

Just something that should be checked, thats all, and those "checking" will know what I mean. All that matters in my book is that guilty people should own up to their actions and innocent people who are wrongly hurt should be cleared.
You garner way too much from my statement, obviously you don't know what I'm talking about, and it doesn't matter, hun.. " Nov 15, 09 7:32 PM

It doesn't make a difference that the investigator and former comptroller are partners, for the house raid that was understandably carried out in order to allow correction of bad unsafe conditions.
It does make a difference for SH Town and a hopeful end to its corrupt state. Or is that not related and therefore off topic and not appropriate (to you & Frank)? And it's ok for the town investigator and the former comptroller together to capitalize on her "mistakes" and continue to help to run LK into the ground, innocently of course because it was after the election. (but prior to any potential trials) " Nov 18, 09 3:58 PM

I would agree with this whole post 100%.

You're right, I would think that it would be the case that the former comptroller does have a problem with Mr. Betts now." Nov 22, 09 8:21 AM
