UPDATE: DA Says Evidence Insufficient To Connect Man Arrested For Southampton Break-In And Sexual Assault With May Stabbing

Getting back to the original story of the CB stabbings. When the four were first arrested, bail was set at $250,000.

Five days later all four were released and the BAIL and BAIL TERMS were mysteriously removed. Here, and from this very article:

"After being held in jail for five days on the felony gang assault charges, Town Justice Andrea Schiavoni ordered three of the four men arrested in that incident released without bail, while the fourth man, Nelvin Ramos-Andrades, 18, of Hampton Bays, was turned over to immigration officials."

EXCATLY WHAT was Town Justice Andrea Sciavoni thinking?

Can someone PLEASE explain this to me?

After all of the understandable legal and editorial confusion and the nit-picking of commentators' grammar, it's important to stay focused here. The back-biting of each others comments here is counterproductive, childish and serves none of us.

We, that is ALL of us who are commenting here, are hard working citizens, contribute to our community, our culture, our area, pay taxes, risk lives (Police, Fire, First Responders, Volunteer Ambulance, etc) and tow the line as responsible, up-standing citizens REGARDLESS of our political affiliations.

Those "cancerous" assailants in the May stabbing case and Nunez' subsequent breaking and entering, robbery and physical/sexual assault TRULY cannot afford to slip through the cracks due to a legal oversight/ screw up.

Lack Of Evidence Prompts Release Of Four Men Charged In May Double Stabbing Outside Hampton Bays Bar

Hi, Frank, Yes. Like many of us, we've been following this one from the beginning.

You're timeline of "blame game/screw ups" is quite accurate.

The story got "hot" after Nunez was arrested a second time and his previous release was questioned. Now it's a scramble. I too cannot wait to hear what happens next." Aug 11, 16 9:19 AM

Thanks, PW. I was waiting for someone to politicize the story. However you failed to specifically name Obama. You referred to him here but it's not considered good "trolling" unless you get really specific. Thanks for your valuable contribution.

One Kings Lane To Open In Former Rogers Memorial Library Building In Southampton

I'm not crazy about the idea, but still considerably better than vacant or another real estate/banking organization. As far as a years round rental? the economy simply can't support that. Not enough winter business and rents are way too high. Saks couldn't even afford it. Miraculous the Pottery Barn is still there. One Kings Lane is an upscale online retailer. Like I said, it could be worse." Apr 28, 17 12:47 PM

I hear you. But exactly what would fit that 'difficult to fill' bill? Especially when we're talking about historic Jobs Lane in Southampton Village. If you live here year round (and I believe you do) you know as well as I that Main St. and Jobs Lane are ghost towns in off season. The retail traffic just isn't there and the rent, I am sure, is above astronomical. And if perhaps you're talking about a some kind of community center, well Jobs Lane just is NOT the place to have it

La Parmigiana Restaurant In Southampton Village Listed For Sale, Considering A New Location

I loved that restaurant and the family for decades.
