Special election date set by Southampton Town Board

Unfortunately with you, this is not a discussion. Your "logic" is to make personal attacks against those who disagree with you. Pretty sad. If you don't know why local experience is important I cannot help you. It cannot be more obvious. " Jan 15, 10 6:55 PM

Southampton Town comptroller reappointment thwarted

You still haven't answered the question. What is Fleming' community service s community record in Southampton Town for 2001-2010??????" Jan 15, 10 6:59 PM

Workers finish dredging Shinnecock Inlet; project comes in $3 million under budget

Is Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company the only company capable of doing this?? They always seem to win the bid? Is it politics or coincidence?" Jan 15, 10 7:19 PM

Well that is great to hear (in this day and age)..and knowing our fishermen will be safe in the inlet is good news too. " Jan 15, 10 10:54 PM

Thank you AlwaysLocal. I cannot figure out why some folks just don't get it except for the fact that they are blinded by party politics/power and have no real concern for what really happens to the this Town. She has no community record and she even admits it in her comments." Jan 17, 10 7:42 PM

Lt. William Hughes named Republican nominee for vacant Southampton Town Board seat

Fleming has NO local record of community service from 2001-2010. She, like "Trust Sally" Pope is a media creation. This is too critical a time in the history of the Town to be training a Board member. I had hoped the Dems would have done better than this by finding a candidate with local experience and not one that is there by default with so called "credentials."" Jan 17, 10 11:27 PM

Southampton Town Board candidate Fleming receives Independence endorsement

This is a crucial nomination" she said but still hasn't told us her community record from 2001=2010. What a joke." Jan 18, 10 8:12 PM

She has no record with Noyac CAC except to use it as political advertising. She has no local record period. As stated, her credentials are "sharp as a tack, she cares, she listens, lawlerly training.' Sounds like "Trust Sally" Pope to me. " Jan 18, 10 10:27 PM

Unfortunately, they got the formula." Jan 19, 10 5:15 PM

You miss the point...they know more about Southampton than Bridget. I would support any local maintenance or garbage person that understands this Town. They don't have to be a lawyer who worked in NYC in 2001 investigating welfare fraud (her only claim to fame and I would love to see her prosecution record for that). She has no community record 2001-2010. Check it out yourself...NOTHING!" Jan 19, 10 6:04 PM

Democrat Regina Calcaterra launches campaign for State Senate

Hilarious to see Southampton Town Board candidate Bridget Fleming who has no community record in her race endorsing another Dem candidate with no community record either. Both are media creations. This is one of the few times it really is a good idea to maintain the "status quo." " Jan 20, 10 7:49 PM

Race for vacant seat on Southampton Town Board heats up

No such thing as Dem cronies in Fidelisland. Fleming has NO community record, none. She uses her asst. DA position which ended in 2001 as qualifying her the Town Board. She is a media creation, period. Just in case it is important to Fidelis (since I have been personally attacked by him before) 30 plus years as a taxpayer of Southampton Town. " Jan 22, 10 5:54 PM

agreed" Jan 22, 10 6:26 PM

MTA to hold public hearing in Riverhead over service cuts

Pay higher MTA fares = poor /no service. Pay more MTA tolls = poor bridge and tunnel maintenance. Now the payroll tax. It is time to look at breaking up this 1970's mega-agency and making our elected officials DIRECTLY responsible for funding regional transportation. The MTA doesn't work. When it was started in the early 1970's the new 2nd Avenue subway was promised for NYC. Don't hold your breath, it still isn't completed 40 years later." Jan 31, 10 10:49 PM

Developer still wants to build 60 condos in Speonk

Two lame ducks are better than none. Won't help the Town but will make great press."Trust Sally" Pope is Fleming's campaign manager...good grief. " Feb 1, 10 9:18 PM

Thiele wants to gauge public interest on a proposed Peconic Bay Transportation Authority

Sounds OK but where would the funds come from to run a new agency? How can you vote for something with no specicfics? Figure out the details Fred before wasting taxpayer money on a useless resolution." Feb 3, 10 5:45 PM

Fred has given no funding specifics and until he does how can anyone seriously vote on anything? Why not have a public discussion NOW without having wait for the bill to be reviewed by the state legislature's useless Shelly Silver committees. Political grandstanding at its' worse." Westhampton Beach mayor plans to stick to his guns regarding two Village Police officers

Hey folks, is all this really necessary. Does this tiny Village really need it's own PD? Did you ever count all the police vehicles behind the Village hall? It's not my dime but something just seems out of balance here. " Feb 4, 10 7:41 PM

Assemblyman Alessi, who is he??? Where is his name in the article??...By the way, where was he when Jamesport needed crosswalks to protect shoppers crossing Main Road or in the battle against the JuleBet development?...He ran for the hills!" Feb 4, 10 8:07 PM

Home in Mastic funded by Southampton Town Section 8 money shut down

We need to see a complete inventory of all properties involved in the out of town Section 8 vouchers issued by the Town and their condition (violations etc.). We also need to know who are the "landlords" (in some cases slumlords) of these properties and is there any connection political or otherwise to any town official involved with these programs. Section 8 has a bad history of providing subsidies for substandard housing on LI no matter what Town handles the program. By the way, you have to drive pretty fast to get to Mastic from Eastport in 10 minutes." Feb 6, 10 5:37 PM
