Southampton Village replaces Crown Victorias with Chargers

Actually frank the crown Vic has been replaced by the taurus. Currently the crown vic is only offered to fleets and it is true that ford has talked about doing away with that model. That being said I don't see why these vehicle are only in service for 2 years. The crown Vic is an extremely durable vehicle and seeing as though in the village of Southampton these vehicles are well taken care of and also don't see hard use it seems like a waste of money to only use them for 2 years. I would agree with your new toys for the boys in that regard. These vehicles should have a far longer service life. Just because it's in the budget doesn't mean the money has to be spent. Use the money to offset the overages in officer overtime pay. People forget sometime it's good to save money. It's bad enough that the officers here are some of the highest paid in country and have not a fraction of the crime. " Sep 25, 09 9:44 PM

It is well known that the charger is The standard replacement for the crown Vic. My point was that the crown vics should have a longer service life than 2 years. After that point then yes by all means buy the chargers. My issue isn't with buying the vehicles. It's with the service life in effect. Even the chargers should last more than 2 years. If that number was expanded to maybe 4 or 5 years we could save $28k per vehicle every 2 years. " Sep 26, 09 8:47 AM

Southampton Village voters approve bond issue for new firehouse

Actually, it will most likely cost the taxpayers less than stated if the grant goes through. Why is that people always have a negative view of everything. I bet you have never even seen the conditions at the Hampton Road firehouse. It is a safety HAZARD. It no longer complies with OSHA regulations and you can barely walk between two trucks. If you think this has anything to do with rewarding the "offspring of a corrupt former Mayor of Southampton" you are wildly mistaken. A new firehouse in the village has been discussed since the early 80's. Get educated before you insult local VOLUNTEERS. In case you didn't know that means they risk their lives to help people like you, without collecting a pay check. THIS IS A LOONG TIME COMING AND VERY MUCH NEEDED. THANKS TO THE VOTERS, The Mayor , Trustees, SFD Chiefs and members!! GODSPEED!" Oct 10, 09 6:19 PM

Hamptons Online sues former publisher, seeking millions in damages

Rob Florio created hamptons online and hamptons.com. Now greedy investors are trying to claim what's rightfully his. I don't know all the facts but I do know that rob florio has been synonymous with hamptons online since the old BBS days in the early 90's. I assume way before there were any investors involved." Study: Merge Southampton And North Sea Fire Districts

Before you make a comment like this please understand the facts. It is very clear that you have no idea about anything regarding the situation or the Southampton Fire Dept. You are making general statements out of left field that are flat out false. Also you seem more concerned about the job that was done plowing the streets than the information in this study. They are in absolutely no way related even if you think they may be. " Jan 13, 11 7:50 PM

I did not call you names, i was simply stating that by reading your comment it is clear that you are unaware of the situation. I did read that you are unaware of the matter, which is why i question the need for your comment. It seemed as though you were more interested in the job that was done plowing than the fire dept which is why i decided not to provide more details into the situation. I am sorry if my comment came off as to berate you, but i find it, IMO, to be inappropriate to make criticizing comments on matters in which i have no knowledge of. I apologize. Other comments below provide great insight into how the fire district is overtaxing the residents that live within its boundaries." Jan 14, 11 5:54 PM
