East End Residents Participate In Marches Protesting Gun Violence

Do you have to register a militia? There must be plenty of undocumented militia groups. I believe they’re called, the good ol’ boys. " Mar 24, 18 11:03 PM

Where did it all go wrong? Because at one time, men went to work and women stayed home with their kids, and if mothers did work, they had somebody else stay home with their kids: Baby sitters, grandmothers, aunts. Sunday’s were holy days, church and family sit down dinners. Kids played outside. Marriages held together longer. Few of today’s women are staying home with their kids like our mothers and grandmothers did. Girls are no longer being reared to become mothers, but for business, and leadership. There is no going back to the way things used to be. And therefore, I don’t believe the problem is fixable. I don’t care if people like my comments, but everyone must recognize that equality comes with a price.

BTW: the kids from Parkland didn’t organize those rallies. The sad thing is they were there exercising their 1st amendment rights, and demanding federal government take away their 2nd amendment rights. They're being used. " Mar 25, 18 11:05 PM

The AR15, is not an assault weapon; it's a semi-automatic. An assault weapon is fully automatic and has the capability of continuous firing.

How come the media is talking about a plan of what to do about the young troubled kids? That's the real issue. Probably most of them came from broken homes and are considered a nuisance, unwanted, even in their own schools? The liberals talk about acceptance for all, but what they really mean is acceptance to all that agree with them. I agree with raising voting age to 21. " Mar 27, 18 9:18 AM

On the topic of history, it’s worth mentioning that the NRA’s 1st president was Ambrose Burnside, a Union General of the American Civil War; Army of the Potomac. At the Battle of Fredericksburg his force suffered more than 13,000 casualties against Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia. The NRA was founded in New York in 1871.

On the subject of bump stocks, they’re gadgets. By themselves, they can’t shoot anything. It’s only when attached (and they can’t attach themselves), that they can be used. It’s not illegal to publish materials teaching people how to hack computers. It’s only becomes a crime after a computer has been hacked. Shouldn’t that same rule apply to bump stocks?

“Fund Education not defense.” Give me a break. Lies, half-truths, and propaganda have been spewing from the "authorities" in academia. They don’t teach about the truth, but some Marxist leftist ideology. The goal of the Marxists is to rid this country of Christianity, family, morals, history, and the Constitution. I never liked the TV show, Apprentice, and never cared about gambling casino’s or beauty pageants, nor do I care for women that entertain gentlemen, including bra and panty contestants. So when I heard Trump was running against Clinton, I thought it was a strategy by the Republican party; using a popular figure to attract voters that would eventually drop out of the race. I never thought he’d stay the course. After my pro-family candidate, Cruz was eliminated, I took the race seriously. I watched the media coverage following the debates depicting Trump as a loser, yet I saw something else… he had real answers to the questions and a game plan; something his opponent lacked. Clearly, he was the stronger, more aggressive candidate. I liked his unapologetic style and campaign, MAGA. When Trump spoke, he spoke directly to me. Clinton spoke to somebody else.

Unrespectable women will not steer me away from voting for him again. As far as I’m concerned, Trump is holding all the right cards.

Fore, you appear to be like most liberals that put everyone in categories; we’re either all this or all that. Unlike many folks that vote all Dem, or all Rep, from the Presidential elections down to the Local elections, I prefer to vote for the best candidate overall. Before the last Presidential election, my party was Democrat. It’s not difficult to change parties, you just call the Board of Elections well in advance. " Apr 2, 18 11:09 AM

UPDATE: Police Offer No Leads In Thursday's County Road 39 Fatality

The problem here isn’t the delivery but the driver that hit him, probably high or drunk. Many DWI cases are repeat offenders and we need stiffer penalties for drunkards that get behind the wheel of a car. It’s a shame because this 63 year old man was still working and driving trucks to earn a living. We need regular police check-stops; not less. If that's what it takes to catch people driving high, drunk or talking on cell phones I say go for it.

Go to any quaint seaside town and you'll encounter heavy traffic. Take away the traffic and you'll take away the quaintness. " Apr 5, 18 12:23 PM

Obama was a liberal tool and the worst President we’ve had. Okay, maybe he ties with Nixon but that isn’t saying much. Don’t forget, he invited that racist group BLM to the White House. Imagine that! " Apr 6, 18 11:27 PM

UPDATE: Remsenburg Teenager Charged With Vandalizing Westhampton Beach High School

I understand he was arrested, his name released, but what's with the photo? The kid was 17. It doesn't make up for the fact that a hit and run case hasn't been solved, or announced to the public. These two incidents aren't even on the same playing field. " Apr 12, 18 10:18 AM

Outpouring Of Support For East Hampton Sommelier Detained By ICE

Think of it like the IRS. It may take years but eventually they come knocking. As for these DWI cases, you won’t hear sympathy from me. Vehicles are lethal weapons and the penalties for drunk driving should be at the felony level. No matter how much support there is, laws need to be enforced. You can’t pick and choose who has to go and who can stay based on popularity and connections. " Apr 18, 18 1:50 PM

School Districts Saying Little About Any Planned Local Participation In School Walkout On Friday

Whether the topic has come up or not, they know it’s possible. They should come out with a definitive answer rather than hide behind the silence of student leaders. Wishy-washy is putting it nicely. To me, no response means their supporting it. " Apr 19, 18 2:42 PM

Years ago, I got ripped off by an attorney I hired. It wasn’t a real estate matter, but a simple matter that I should’ve handled myself. I decided to take the easy route and pay someone to handle it for me. The result was disappointing as the case was closed due to the attorney’s negligence. I took the attorney to court, but because I didn’t know how to represent myself, I lost. I was angry. Then a relative of mine that is quite religious told me, “I know you think they got away with it, but they stole from you, and they will have to answer for that someday.” It was then that I put the matter behind me and moved on. And then I re-opened the original case on my own, represented myself, and won.

Attorneys are like doctors. There are primary physicians and there are specialists, and if you need to see a cardiologist, don’t book an appointment with an urologist.

Two wrongs don’t make it right, and this Mr. P. sounds like a scum bag.

What is the difference between an (illegal) alien, and an undocumented immigrant? I’m not comfortable having my license scanned. I don’t mind showing it a guard, but I don’t want it scanned. There is too much fraud happening. Therefore, when I show up without any documents, I expect to be handled in the same manner as an undocumented immigrant without proper identification. I’m not trying to be difficult, but it doesn’t make sense that citizens have to show documents when non-document holding aliens do not.

“…leaders of Latino advocacy groups said that the recent sweeps show that ICE has turned its sights from violent criminals to anyone who has an arrest record—a single DWI…”

Are we watering down DWI’s? Who is buying into this hog wash? Not me. Driving a 2-3 ton vehicle while intoxicated is a violent criminal act. Get the drunks off our roadways ASAP, and make certain these single DWI cases are not repeated 2 or 3 times.

Remember the old watch factory in Sag harbor? I think it was deemed a super fund that had to be environmentally cleaned up. Look at it now! The most important thing to me is appearance, and that it not be modern like the ultra-ugly modern stuff they build in Europe. Timeless is good, but modern would be inappropriate.
