Traffic Questions Continue To Confound As Board Closes Tuckahoe Center Hearing

Certainly you aren't suggesting that CR 39 needs a preservation initiative. The great Bald Eagle isn't nesting on the corner of McGee and CR39. The Deer and the Antelope do not play near the proposed site of this zone change. There is however, a statue of a giant Tyrannosaurus Rex, right down the road. I also, am appalled at your suggestion that the 'needs' of the younger generation should be dismissed as 'conveniences', because we don't fall into a what you perceive as the prominent voting demographic. Regardless of needs, wants, conveniences, etc... If a person voices their personal need for something, than who is anyone else to define what defines a need for that citizen. The town hall forums are there to bring to light, what the individual needs of these citizens are. I'm sorry that my needs, and the needs of others that are in their thirties, or forties, are an 'inconvenience' to those of you who do stand in the way of our necessary progression. This is not a "There goes the neighborhood" scenario. This project's retail is 1/15 the size of the Bridgehampton Commons retail. There is no cause for alarm, if this zone gets changed. Everything will be just fine, and I will have an aesthetically pleasing, competitively priced, place to shop, on my way home... because I need it, I want it, and I am entitled to ask for a zoning change so that it may be provided." Wow Moonpie. What a snotty little remark you just made. You really figured me out. My dirty little secret, that I've NEVER HIDDEN. Glad I could entertain you. I believe this project would be great for the people that it will serve. You don't agree, so you attack ME? You are insinuating that I am not allowed to have my own opinion and share it. I'm sick and tired of being discounted, by the opposition because of my relationship with Lance Nill. I am not engaged to him. I do not live with him. These are all things that have been said about me, to discredit my opinion in some way. We are a couple, but I in NO WAY benefit from this shopping center, other than the obvious grocery needs being satisfied. My cucumbers, and your cucumbers, will cost the same thing at the new super market. I am a single mom. I struggle more than you will ever know. I get NO child support, I work FULL TIME, for Lance... So what? He doesn't pay me to speak; as a matter of fact, he's a nervous wreck when I go up there to speak.
I have NO family here, other than my 5yr old, but this is where I have made my home, for the better part of the last two decades. I want this supermarket because it does fulfill what I consider to be several needs. Your needs are different, perhaps you are satisfied by the status quo. I'm not. You have no right to tell me what my needs are. You have no right to say I'm not entitled to 'convenience'. Having a shopping complex 1/15 of the size of The Bridgehampton Commons, in NO WAY turns your precious historical town into suburbia. I looked up to the people of the village here, who were speaking at these meetings, as people who seemed educated and active in the politics, and the happenings of this community. My opinion of them has now changed dramatically, since the first finger was pointed at me at the meeting, last month, and all the fingers since. You discount the needs of the many, you dismiss our rights to convenience, because you have a different lifestyle. You define your needs differently, that's fine. But don't point at me, and say my needs don't count, or I don't have the right to ask for convenience. Why? Because of who I'm in a relationship with? Because of my age? Or just because I'm of a different opinion than you. " May 1, 15 11:34 AM

Folks like me? Or folks like the rude people who have been attacking me for no reason, other than they disagree w/ my supporting a zone change? " May 2, 15 1:23 PM

UPDATE: Police Say Drunk Driving Was Cause Of Wednesday Night Accident On County Road 39

They really need to do a much better job reporting these stories. There was a man named Wes who was at the scene, when it happened and pulled the body of the driver of one of the vehicles out, then rescued several children from the other car, which was in a pool of gasoline! He saved all those lives! But there is NOTHING in this story about that!" Aug 20, 15 3:15 PM

UPDATE: Southampton Town Councilman Brad Bender Pleaded Guilty On Drug Charges And Resigns, Facing Up To 20 Years In Prison

I intercede, knowing I'm throwing myself into a Lions' Den, or in this case a Tiger's. "May you live in interesting times" is not "an old Chinese curse". LOL it's an English version of an old Chinese (common sense) proverb, about a dog in peaceful times vs. a man in a period of war. What that has to do 'with the price of tea in China, or domestic groceries, or local politics remains to be seen. How about what Jesus said, in Mathew...
Matthew 7:1-3King James Version (KJV)
"Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged." He wasn't Chinese, but I think he knew his stuff. With that said...
Shame on you NTiger; to say such things about a man whom you don't personally know. You do not know his story, or the big picture. So you can continue to eat your Kung Pao Chicken and quote fake proverbs of the Orient, and throw stones, but in the end, without affordable, and conveniently located groceries, many more people will most likely have to resort to drug dealing. Maybe even grocery dealing. Men on the street slinging hot bananas, to live. Just saying. There goes the neighborhood! " Nov 24, 15 1:28 PM

Suffolk County Planning Commission Votes Against Tuckahoe Shopping Center Zone Change

Anyone at the meeting could tell you there was such Elitist Grandstanding on the part of Commissioner Barbara B. Roberts. The rug was very unfairly pulled from under the Tuckahoe Center. That woman literally said, that the people of the Town of Southampton would never want their kids working at a grocery store! She doesn't represent me, she doesn't represent the real people of the Town of Southampton. She represents the 1%. She mentioned the character of Southampton, and the project taking away from the farmstands, etc... Ya can't buy diapers at a farm stand! You can't get Cocoa Krispies from Citerella! No matter what side of the fence one is on here, her 10 minute (misleading) introduction into her motion to deny, most definitely swayed members of the County Planning Commission towards HER point of view.
