Agents try auctions to move property

This was tried (and failed) in nothern New Jersey during the 80's by a Real Estate Broker named Max E. Spann. All in all I think that 3 or 4 auctions were done in conjunction with Dean Kruse, the car auctioneer.

Although it created a lot of hype, the sellers all took less than they had wanted with most of them closing below the reserve. " Feb 3, 09 12:58 PM

Code enforcement shuts down soup kitchen at Southampton Tire

The anger expressed here is truly saddening. In my opinion, the Whibys are humanitarians. Now, as to the REAL issue of "illegals", why not place the blame on those who are truly responsible - the federal government. While the whiners are screaming "no amnesty" the floodgates stay open and more and more people sneak through. Why not have every illegal alien here register for a green card, pay a fine and go through the process of legalization? In exchange, they receive a government identification card. Allow 60 days for registration after which time ANYONE here illegally is deported. All traffic stops would require the presentation of proper papers or go directly to jail pending deportation. Now you have closed the gates, created a just process and we can all move on, hopefully without the hate.;" Apr 5, 09 2:39 PM

Alternatives sought after village shuts down Southampton Tire soup kitchen

Cheap labor? Last summer, my good friend's son was lucky to find a job working at a Westhampton Beach Deli for $7.65 an hour and these "day laborers" won't work for less than $10. What's wrong with this picture?" Apr 8, 09 4:48 PM

Hampton Bays woman founds new pro-immigration organization

Contrary to many of the above comments, it is my belief that any law that is not enforced is a "Broken Law" and either should be removed from the books or fixed. "Squeaky" states that next we will protect pedophiles! You demean yourself and your fellow followers with that type of ignorant mentality. In the end, these people are human beings. If the law is enforced, so be it - they are deported. If the law is not enforced, why don't you talk to your politicians about enforcement and leave the rest of us alone without your whining. God bless you, Miss Baruch." Jun 2, 09 4:54 PM

Protest of food pantry benefit concert is canned

The negative ACAC members should hang their heads in shame. What we need is a little more kindness being shared. Like the saying goes, "there is just no cure for stupidity"." Jun 10, 09 11:34 AM

Protesters demand an end to shark tournament

I am with Matt. The oceans are being depleted and sharks decimated by finning and selfish morons. In 2009, there is no reason to kill any shark that isn't edible and for anyone who has ever tried to eat a Blue, you know exactly what I am talking about." Jun 24, 09 2:25 PM

Quogue Village mayor pleads guilty to securities fraud

As a resident of Quogue, I am saddened that we are going to lose a Mayor who was fair and just with no personal agenda except that which was best for the village. For those who understand the way this place can work, he will be sorely missed. Best of luck to you, George, and many thanks for helping us forget about the prior Mayor." Oct 14, 09 2:12 PM

Quogue Mayor's investment firm pleads guilty to securities fraud

Deputy Mayor, Randy Cardo, stated for the record that he had served under 3 Mayors and that George Motz was without a doubt the finest. For those of us who know the truth, Randy told it like it is. All class, Randy. We are proud of you." Oct 16, 09 5:08 PM

Quogue mayor resigns days after pleading guilty to felony fraud charge

Well, aren't you the compassionate one? Motz was not a good mayor, he was a great mayor and had you enough knowledge regarding past mayors of Quogue, you would know that. There was nothing "self serving" about his tenure whatsoever, neither did he treat his village as if it were his kingdom and its residents merely serfs. Perhaps you would do better to concentrate on Southampton Town." Oct 17, 09 10:00 AM
