Southampton Town leaf collection policy forums scheduled

I see Gregor's point. However, most of what he is talking about is a fixed cost which we pay for. We would not save that much money - perhaps half or less. Remember, gov't has fuzzy math.

As someone who pays taxes, perhaps we should bag our own and reduce our taxes. The Hwy. Dept. would need less people, let's take the savings. Perhaps outsource and privitize all services like the cleaning and light repair

Southampton Town residents express opinions on leaf pick-up program

Pay more, get less from gov't.. How about a reduction in heads at the Hwy. Dept and a roll back in taxes. " Apr 8, 10 7:55 PM

Town Highway Department warns of wide trucks on Dune Road in Hampton Bays

Piping plovers are more important than people. We are wacked as a nation with such crazyness. Three miles of beach front will have no impact on the birds. They will nest some other place.

Mattituck woman will receive six months for DWI fatality involving Hampton Bays teen

Mr. Cliifford stated " the DA may have had a difficult time"....what lazyness on the part of the DA office. Look at the facts:

- Drunk.
- Open container.
- 6 year old in front seat.

The D.A. should have not taken the agreement and could have done their job. To think this gal will do six months and may do this again is so sad. Very Sad. " Jun 2, 10 9:26 PM

Town to abandon brush pickup in leaf program

Pay more get less. This is our state and local government slogan. Gov't is out of control even on the local level. I have a new policy; DO NOT RAKE, DO NOT TELL." Oct 9, 10 12:28 AM

New Southampton Town Leaf Cleanup Program Will Launch On Monday

Leaves still not picked up and poor job with removal of snow. This Department has gone from bad to not doing their jobs. Gregor is a run and hide manager. Ana, what is the story? Can the Dept of Hwys do anything right? " Jan 16, 11 10:15 AM

Town Changes Leaf Pick-Up Program Again

We need to get competitive and cut gov't jobs. We need to get lean and leaf pick up is just a small part of non-important work that home owners will need to deal with. So be it. Now, lets cut, slash and hack the budgets of the Hwy. Dept., school system, etc.. A great deal of gov't is a waste - lets intergrate township departments to reduce overhead and cost. Perhaps privitizing the many of the functions such as Dept of Hwy., Post Office, etc. will need to be done.

Time to cut taxes !

Upcoming Changes For Southampton Town Leaf Program

Perhaps each tax payer should short pay our taxes by a small amount to show gov't that if we get less, we should pay less. If each of us short pays a small amount, $50 or less it will send a message to our local gov't.? It would generate so much more trouble and it would cost Southampton more than $50 dollars to collect the $50 bucks.

Let's Gregorize Southampton on behalf of the Hwy Dept..

Architect Reveals Plans For Good Ground Park In Hampton Bays

Bad project. It will do little to help the town and end up not being used. Will it attract people from outside the town?

Has the designer and town leadership shown any creativity with this project?. This could have had a band shell and out door ice rink for the winter with a nice fire pit. This would have attracted people to the town to do something no other local town has.

I think the park will attract illegal day labor folk. Mr. Williams you are clueless. Go back to Jersey." Aug 14, 14 11:08 PM

Hampton Bays Library Budget Will Increase Sharply Due To Discrepancy

Wow ! Someone needs to go. This Gov't stuff is proof the tax payers get it up the back. Gov't employees harm the little guy - teachers, cops, run these budgets for their own needs. This has to stop. 4% - 7%,,,,,, The leadership of the HBL needs to go. One time adjustment, what a lie. Next year it will be another 3%, compound that you fools.

What planet is the HBL leadership from? ,Time for a change!

I think the state should investigate the library - who checks the funding? " Aug 14, 14 11:33 PM

Architect Reveals Plans For Good Ground Park In Hampton Bays

Ampitheater will bring in no direct revenue to the town. All of us will have to pay for it in taxes. The town needs to work on other projects. For example Tina Beach and the canal.

How nice will it be to sit in a 800 seat amphitheater in January? It needs to be scaled down. HBBA is doing more and more work for the town which Park & Rec along with Dept of Hwy can not handle. Who will do the up-keep, trash and monitor the crime in the park?

Gender-Neutral Restroom Provides Safe Space At East Hampton High School

This bathroom & story was hi-jacked by a LGBT group to push their agenda rather than what it was designed for. Why would a LGBT have anything to say about a gender neutral rest room? This is just proof what is wrong with us. This is only a bathroom so get over it.. " Apr 6, 16 8:40 PM

Local Businesses Close For A Day, Join Nationwide 'Day Without Immigrants' Protest

What a horrible news report. The story is not true or balanced but shows how poor Southampton Press can be when reporting.

To state the headline, “Hampton Bays Joins Nationwide 'Day Without Immigrants' Protest”, is not true, not factual and has no place stating Hampton Bays joins this march. Our issues as a nation, is not about immigration, but illegal immigration. It has zero to do with Hampton Bays.

Once again the editors at Southampton Press leading a story about Hampton Bays only to stereo type it? Who approves the headlines at this rag?
