Taxpayers approve Hampton Bays Library's $1.89 million budget

and by the way in case you havn't noticed, your tax bill includes line items for everything- school, fire, ambulance, water, library, etc.- a small increase in each of them ADDS UP!! so i don't want to hear "its only a little increase"

and by the way, North Sea, why don't you check out how high the school tax is in H Bays- its a lot higher than Southampton, before you comment on what should be added to MY property tax bill. " Aug 12, 10 9:33 PM

Southampton Town supervisor floats cop consolidation plan

id like to add firehouses to your list- i recently had occasion to visit the new Fire Palace on Ponquogue ave- they have a kitchen fit for a five star restaurant- must have run 200K for that setup. i don't ever recall seeing a kitchen at a fire scene.
how about opening up the books so we can see exactly what our money is being spent on? " Aug 12, 10 10:07 PM

Hampton Bays civic leaders make their own redevelopment pitch

i dont know who they are but they seem to think they speak for all h bays residents. mary jean green i know is a whack job- she writes letters to the editor constantly suggesting all kinds of ridiculous things- ive read her letters and most of her facts are wrong and she substitutes her opinions for reality often.

we would all be better off if mary and her united morons would sit down and shut up" Aug 25, 10 9:24 PM

Mill Pond fish kill not caused by runoff; coincidence and longer term problems blamed

1, in the basements of surrounding houses
2. see #1
3. whatever season will kill the most birds- there are too many anyway
4. send them to the chineese restaurants in brooklyn
5. drain the swamps- build mansions!!
6. raise taxes of the poor
7. the hell with them- they're always complaining anyway
8. drained from swimming pools of surrounding houses- they live on a pond, they don;t need pools
9. no its considered harvesting

South Shore may feel effects of Hurricane Earl

the only thing i learned from this article is to NOT listen to anything this Iberger says-- "the hurricane is projected to stay offshore . . . we could feel the effects of the outer bands"
according the the national weather service at 8pm the storms path up the coast is "unforcastable at this time" and if it tracks according to some models it will cross long island as a cat 3 or cat 4.

be prepared and stay tuned to the experts- forget about this Iberger and his press releases- he knows not of what he speaks. " Aug 30, 10 10:14 PM

Mary Jean Green steps down as civic president

actually she is a fool. now if she would just stop writing letter to the editor.we would be rid of her ridiculous, inaccurate rants . . ." Aug 30, 10 10:33 PM

Hazmat team conducts drill at Hampton Bays Elementary after minor incident

you're screaming conspiracy and cover up concerning haz mats in an elementary school and you're typing so fast to get your story out that you mix up salt and sulfuric acid. i see. thats quite a mistake, not exactly a typo.

and yes , you're a BIG MAN for correcting your mistake

now what really happened in that school? anyone with a shred of credibility left have any info? without the hysterics?" Aug 30, 10 10:43 PM

South Shore may feel effects of Hurricane Earl

what meteorologists??? not the national weather service its now 5 pm tuesday and they still can't forecast the track all im saying is when a person in authority makes a statement like that some people take it as an absolute and tune out .
a more responsible statement would have been to advise people that we could be impacted by a major storm, the experts can't yet forecast the track , and to STAY UPDATED. THATS what the experts are saying" Aug 31, 10 5:22 PM

better check again" Aug 31, 10 5:23 PM

No smooth sailing for Mecox Bay sailing group

i believe it says 6,000 feet of "vegetation" , not wetlands" Sep 19, 10 5:58 PM

again, 6,000 feet of "vegetation", not "wetlands"" Sep 19, 10 6:00 PM

listen to all the mansion owners bitching about the wetlands- exactly how much vegetation/wetlands/etc are destroyed for each of the houses still being built around the bay?

how about letting up on the amount of fertilyzer you dunp in the bay to keep your "preferred vegetation" green?

if this is town property then it should be available to all town residents to use- and i don't care who lives on the block and doesn't like it. too bad. its enough to make you want to gag " Sep 19, 10 6:07 PM

hey james white- you keep repeating "6000 feet of wetlands" instead of "vegetation" either you are ignorant and don't know the difference, or you are playing on peoples sensitivity regarding the preservation of wetlands.

i think its the latter- we are not stupid- we can read. vegetation does NOT mean wetlands. if in fact you are opposed to destroying vegetation, then don't cut your grass or pull weeds from your garden." Sep 23, 10 5:29 PM
