Immigration Outreach Group Celebrates 10th Anniversary In Hampton Bays

Well this article sums up the aiding and abetting of the undocumented/illegal population by the Catholic Church. If you feed them, they will stay, if you clothe them, they will stay. Is the Church paying the hospital bill for birthing new citizens? I hope everyone who puts money in the collection plate knows exactly where their donations are going.
I seem to recall this church not aiding and abetting the Jews during WWII.
Sorry but this article does not make me warm & fuzzy. It pissess me off.

Randy Altschuler Unveils Jobs Plan

To all of you bitching and moaning about outsourcing as a reason not to vote for Randy......How many of you buy American made products? They are difficult to find these days. Shop in Pier One, all products made in China. Buy a coffee mug in dunkin donuts or starbucks, all made in China. Try to find a reusable water bottle not made in China. Shop at the Gap? Clothes are not made in America. Own an ipad or iphone? These products are not made in America.
If you are not buying American then quit using outsourcing as a reason not to vote for Randy. " May 16, 12 12:50 PM

DePersia Pleads Guilty To Probation Violation; Sentenced To DWI Alternative Facility

The sentence was 7 months in a DWI facility at the County jail. Releasing her after 4 months does seem fair to the victims (thankfully alive victims) of her drinking problem. No guarantee that a 7 month program will be the answer to keeping her out of a vehicle or getting her sober. " Jun 26, 12 8:06 PM

UPDATE: County Road 39 Reopens Six Hours After Crash

Did it really need to take six hrs to photograph, mark the accident scene and remove the two vehicles involved? Six hrs of road closure? This seems unjustified and unreasonable to all the motorists that endured a trip from hell. There needs to be a better back up plan. " Jul 24, 12 11:24 PM

Separate Emergency Room Billing May Be Bitter Pill To Swallow

I found this out the hard way over ten years ago. I required treatment via the emergency room at 1 am. The "on call doctor" took two hours to arrive. Only when I got the bill did I realize he was "out of network". I spoke with a gentleman in the finance dept. to dispute the bill and told him that I should have been told that the doctor was "out of network". The hospital had my insurance info. They knew my plan. I was told, "I was lucky to have been treated". My response was, in the two plus hours I waited, I could have driven to Stony Brook, been treated and not have thousands of dollars in medical bills. The lesson: If you are conscious, and don't have a life threatening injury, ask lots of questions before you are treated. " Mar 8, 13 2:48 PM

Southampton Hospital Receives Evironmental Excellence Awards

I recently visited a friend at the hospital. Can't imagine the criteria for the hospital to receive this award. I saw so much plastic (wash basins/plastic tubing/pastic devices that patients blow into/water bottles/soda cans) being thrown into garbage cans by the nurse. Guess the award is for incinerating all the garbage they generate which includes medical waste.

North Haven Residents Want Ticks Gone Regardless Of Cost

The Town of Southampton knows there is a tick epidemic this year. More antibiotics have been dispursed this spring and summer than ever before. Just ask the pharmacists. To date Southampton is ignoring the problem. The Town should be authorizing deer culling and tick spraying. Time to stop pretending that the deer are Bambi. There are too many of them. Besides tick carriers they destroy the gardens on our property. Homeowners should be able to defend their properties. Deer should be considered wild and deadly
