No jail time, fine for Hults after guilty plea; grand jury does not indict McGintee

Lots of bloodsuckers on this site. Mr. McGintee is the only person I know that has never been charged with anything but is guilty of everything. You people really need to find a new scapegoat-perhaps Len Bernard????" Jun 21, 10 7:45 PM

perhaps connwatcher gets his info from the Independent. The Star reported, based on the auditors report, that Len Bernard utilized CPF funds improperly long before Mr. Hults did. There are many others facts, regarding financial mistakes by the Schneiderman administration that are now seeing the light of day. You're right, no one cares what Schneiderman and Bernard did (or didn't do) let sleeping dogs lie. But don't be a hypocrite-if you truly believe you are the self-proclaimed connwatcher then make sure all the facts are made public. The truth will set you free connwatcher" Jun 22, 10 7:07 PM

Billbonac:
THESE ARE THE FACTS: IF YOU READ THE "JUST RELEASED GRAND JURY REPORT" CORRECTLY THE PROBLEM IS THE BUDGETS IN 2003 and 2004 (SCHNEIDERMAN/BERNARD) PUT THE TOWN IN THE HOLE BY THEIR POOR BUDGETING. IN THE 2003 BUDGET THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE TOWN TAX RATES WERE -.07% AND IN 2004( THE YEAR BERNARD RAN FOR SUPERVISOR) THEY WERE -4.6% AND -7.0% INSIDE AND OUTSIDE . THOSE BUDGETS WERE WHAT PRECIPITATED THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL. WHERE DID IT STATE ANYWHERE IN THE REPORT THAT MCGINTEE DID ANYTHING? THAT IS WHY THERE ARE NO CHARGES." Jun 22, 10 7:57 PM

Len, I mean Connwatcher:
Read the report!" Jun 22, 10 8:10 PM

I'm just reading the grand jury's report as stated, not interpreting it like you, Len. The Independent...who reads that??? Finny's mom, maybe you are right. Maybe this is Murphy. I agree,... no difference.

HB90 you are correct. Some people on this site have intelligence. This is a rather simple senario which the hatemongers cannot accept. Mr. McGintee, after a lengthy and complete investigation by the DA's office, was found innocent of any criminal wrongdoing. Mr. Hults plead to 2 minor charges and received a conditional discharge. Just because connwatcher and billbonac prayed every night for a different outcome doesn't change the facts. It's laughable that the DA's was their best friend during the investigation but is now their whipping boy because he did his job properly. " Jun 23, 10 7:57 AM

Rick, you have become hysterical-your "crazy eddie" personality is showing. You, of all people, have a problem with someone intentionally pretending to be someone else in an attempt to hurt someone professionally. How about all your fictious letters to the editor signed:"fear of retaliation", "town worker", "prefers to remain unknown", "Unknown shopkeeper". You utilize these tactics on a weekly basis in that fishwrap you call a newspaper and then you boo-hoo, like the little boy that you are, when other do the same." Jun 23, 10 8:11 AM

Grand jury details financial disarray and disaster in East Hampton

If you followed town government you would know that Mr. McGintee stood alone on healthcare reform. He battled the union and a cowardly, no-show town board for almost 2 years before he accomplished that goal. Hammerle, Mansir, Foster and Prince cost the taxpayer almost 3 million dollars due to their inaction and pandering." Jun 23, 10 10:39 AM

billbonac-wrong as usual. McGintee's budget was 24% and he knew it was correct. Under pressure from the board, both political parties and the local media it was reduced. If you understand the budget process-the final budget has a great deal to do with the board and the public-the tentative budget is the supervisors. Please look up the definition of tentative in the dictionary. The big question is why would tax cuts by Schneiderman and Bernard in 2003 and 2004 (bernard's election budget) result in the need for a 25% tax increase for Mr. McGintee and the board? Did they cook the books?? Did they leave a hidden financial timebomb??? I do remember Mr. McGintee bringing this info to the board and the media long before the grand jury determined the very same facts." Jun 23, 10 7:44 PM

Kabot's DWI trial delayed once again

Rocky, whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? I too am stunned that your comments have been allowed on this site. Linda Cabot, like her or hate her, has the guts to dedicate her life to public service. You, on the other hand, have no guts. The extent of your public service must be preaching from your barstool at Magics Pub. Drink up Rocky!" Jun 23, 10 8:43 PM

Grand jury details financial disarray and disaster in East Hampton

Is this the same Pete Hammerle and Pat Mansir who rarely showed up for work. Perhaps the DA should investigate how they can collect a pension and never work. There are many people at town hall who know this for a fact." Jun 23, 10 10:06 PM

McGintee to sue Town of East Hampton

I'm not surprised your article was posted at 3:58 PM today. You obviously do not have an undercover mole in Town Hall like Kitty Merrill does, and therefore you have to rely on the Independent for your information, however incorrect it may be. If you took the time to accurately report facts you would know that a public offical liability claim is not a lawsuit against the town-rather an insurance claim. It will cost the taxpayers nothing. " Aug 4, 10 9:31 PM

He meant townie in a derogatory manner. Why are you covering for him? Additionally, the thousands of people who live in Springs are good, hard-working people who enjoy where they live. I don't think they feel that anyone is looking down upon them-with the exception of prejudiced elitists like you. Keep putting your foot in you mouth ICE." Aug 5, 10 9:03 AM

Harbor at Heart, you must be Kitty Merrill or Rick Murphy's relative. Your vocabulary gives you away. You have already used sophisticated language like scum-- perhaps you can graduate to larger words next time, like poo pee or doo doo. If you can advance to this level, perhaps they will hire you at the Independent." Aug 5, 10 5:28 PM

Yeah, the investigation that led to NO CHARGES for Bill McGintee. The DA wanted nothing more than to charge McGintee with a crime-- that would have been the crowning achievement of his entire tenure as DA. The fact that after an endless investigation that was instigated by Rick Murphy and the Independent, Bill McGintee was not charged with anything should be evidence enough that Bill did not "decide to use that money" for anything." Aug 5, 10 5:43 PM

I agree with you cruiser. Nobody seems interested in the truth. " Aug 13, 10 12:25 PM
