This Year, An Election Year Battle For Bishop

It's not surprising that Turkey Bridge argues with name calling but no facts, that's the typical modus operandi of the liberal/progressives. While Tim Bishop cliams he delivered $400 million in stimulus to the district, he never mentions that it comes with our share of the $825 billion stimulus debt that we have to pay back, about $3 billion. $400 million in, $3 billion out. What a great deal! He voted to bail out GM which then turned around and said it would increase its offshore production from 17% to 23%. Can you say outsourcing? Bishop has spent his entire adult life in academia and Congress. He knows nothing about creating jobs. He's had a good eight year run. It's time to leave." Oct 20, 10 9:36 PM

Election 2010: Bishop Points To His Track Record

You are dead on. All spending and tax bills originate in Congress. Since Nancy Pelosi took over the gavel the deficit has grown by $5 trillion. Since Tim Bishop votes with Pelosi 97% of the time, let's put ol' Tim down for $4.85 trillion. Thanks, Tim! My great-great-grandchildren, who will be paying for this, thank you." Oct 28, 10 7:58 AM

The only problem with your assessment is that the recession ended before the first stimulus dollar was spent. The stimulus was sold on the promise that unemployment could be capped at 8% if approved, but would rise to 9% IF WE DID NOTHING. It is now at 9.6% and everyone who backed it is scrambling to CYA, saying if there was no stimulus unemployment would have been 11.6%. I suppose if it hit 11% we would be told it would have been 50% without it. It is the same old progressive answer to failed programs: it would have been worse without it. Nice rhetoric, but always unprovable." Oct 28, 10 9:13 AM

I wrote Tim a letter asking his support on a particulare issue. I got a letter back saying why he was opposed. Okay, I respect that he and I won't agree on much, but I thought his reasoning was awful. So, I wrote back a rebuttal point-by-point. Quite frankly, I didn't expect a response, but I got one. It was the exact same letter as the first time around with only the date changed.

I want a Congressman in Washington not a Tammany Hall fixer." Oct 28, 10 9:22 AM

John Behan, Former East Hampton Republican Committee Chairman, Endorses Bishop For Congress

"Good guy". I have no doubt Tim Bishop is a decent fellow. But how does that qualify him for Congress more than a million other "good guys or women" in CD-1? Does living a lifetime in the district qualify someone? I don't recall the outrage at Hillary Clinton coming hear, wearing a Yankee hat, and running for the Senate. What about Bobby Kennedy from Massachusetts, er, New York, coming here and running for the Senate. Both were idolized by the same people who are calling Altschuler a carpetbagger. Altschuler has lived in NY for all but about 2 years of his life. Perhaps Tim Bishop is too sheltered having lived no where else his entire life, he doesn't understand America, the Constitution, or the difference between state and federal government. It's not like they teach that in our schools or colleges." Jun 2, 12 11:31 AM

Bishop On Defensive After Claims Of Unethical Campaign Solicitations

Tim Bishop outsourced hundreds of jobs through the stimulus program where most of the green energy manufacturers were overseas. Congress (Bishop) funded programs to train people in the Phillipines and Sri Lanka to speak English better so they could get good call center jobs. Bishop voted to bail out GM and Chrysler which promptly increased overseas production and built an engine factory in Mexico, respectively. The difference between Bishop and Altschuler if you hate outsourcing is that Bishop did it with your tax dollars." Aug 18, 12 9:40 AM

I am sure you had the same harsh criticism for those carpetbaggers Bobby Kennedy and Hillary Clinton, didn't you? If living all but 2 years of your life in New York make you a carpetbagger from New Jersey, then I guess we are all carpetbaggers." Aug 18, 12 9:44 AM
