Swan rescue in Southampton Village

A swan decided to take up residence in the parking lot of the CVS in Southampton Village on Thursday afternoon. Village Police kept watch over the bird until a representative from the Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons arrived. The swan gave everyone involved a run for their money, dashing and flapping through the street and on the sidewalk before being captured. According to representatives from the Wildlife Rescue Center, the bird was a little dehydrated and had an old beak injury that posed no real problem. It will be kept under observation for a few days and then released, they said.
